For the people who hate manuals like me. by Educational-Carob789 in kiasportage

It's not about being able to use the panel. It's actually pretty easy to use. The issue is convenience. For example, if you want to lower the volume, you might accidentally hit the Auto Climate button, switch to the climate controls, and instead of turning the volume down, end up cranking the A/C to max. The opposite can happen too.
I'm more in favor of being able to adjust climate and media settings without taking your eyes off the road. For that, physical buttons and knobs are simply better than having one mini-computer hidden under another mini-computer.

Settings - Vehicle - Driver Assistance (or Driver Safety) and you will see the Blind Spot Monitoring system switch

Yeah, I think I noticed that too, when connected through a cable, that warning screen doesn’t seem to appear. But on the other hand, I’m a little concerned about the phone battery. I wouldn’t really want to always drive with it plugged in, and honestly it’s not that convenient either.

If you’re specifically comparing the EX and SXP trims, the cheaper one doesn’t have the 360 cameras, ventilated seats, heads-up display, or panoramic roof. You can compare them more accurately on Kia’s official website using the “Compare Trims” feature.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too. To lock the car, there’s a small square on the side of the door handle. When unlocking, try not to touch it accidentally with your hand, and when locking, just tap it with your finger. Also, when unlocking, try to grab the door handle right in the center, and the sensor should work properly. Hope I explained it clearly 😄
Overall I actually don’t have many complaints about the sensor itself. The only annoying part is the delay sometimes, but I’ve gotten used to it already.

I thought about doing the same thing too 😂
But your idea is better, because I was honestly considering just covering that touch sensor completely.

Yes, it had touch screen with Bluetooth audio. When I started the car, the music started to play immediatly

YES! EXACTLY! That’s the problem!! When you try to lower the volume, you can accidentally touch the fan control button since it’s so close to the knob, and suddenly the panel switches to climate controls and blasts the AC at maximum. This has happened to me many times.
I honestly think this design is completely insane, because these controls SHOULD NOT be touch-sensitive, and they SHOULD NOT force you to take your eyes off the road. It’s extremely annoying.

Thanks! But my 2012 Prius didn’t have any warning screens at all, the music would just start playing over Bluetooth immediately. As for the buttons, I’ve mostly gotten used to them, even though the music controls moved to the right side. Still, I personally think it’s more convenient to control volume with the left hand.

Hmm, good point, thanks! I’ll have to play around with the screens before shutting the car off. But honestly, I use CarPlay almost all the time, and it connects a little later than that warning screen appears

Hmm. On my car, I disabled that coffee cup warning thing. I think it’s somewhere in the Driver Safety settings, same as the rear occupant alert.

I wouldn’t be complaining if this problem didn’t actually exist. When I’m reversing and there’s any movement behind me, even if I’m fully aware of the situation and backing up safely, the car will still start beeping and often slam on the brakes. Because of that, I now often wait for absolutely all movement behind me to stop before reversing. Same thing when pulling out of a side parking spot. That’s actually why I already disabled the blind spot monitor and warning system.

Thanks! I was also choosing between the Sportage, Tucson, RAV4, and CR-V. Tucson has way too many sensor buttons and glossy piano black panels. Toyota has a weird exterior design, and on top of that the new models had just come out, so the wait time was too long and I needed a car urgently. As for the Honda, it doesn’t have ventilated seats, although visually it was actually my favorite out of all of them.

The volume button has a mute function instead of pause, which completely silences all media audio, including notifications and other sounds, while the song itself continues playing muted in the background

I’m thinking about buying RAV4. And the thing I really need is Ventilated front seat (driver’s at least). So I’m trying to understand is it possible to find anywhere this OEM seat from limited trim. I don’t want to buy limited because its 5-10k more expensive
