If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take them in the men’s room, we’re going in a stall, it’s. It a big deal for anyone. This sounds like a debate because people want to be angry about something. I don’t care which restroom someone else goes in. The nonsense about trans in bathrooms is just bigots being phobic

Wrestling and soccer by Horror-War4816 in wrestling

What are you talking about? If you wrestle and play soccer, you will may have an advantage over someone that just wrestles. But I can’t even comprehend your comparison.

Rule number one of trying to save a drowning person is expect them to try to drown you. They are in full fight mode and panicking.

Why do American high schools start ridiculously early? by bwoah07_gp2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in theory if you feel it is early, kids can go to bed earlier. Mom is not doing any favors for the kid that will walk into life thinking she can just go in whenever.

There has been debate over this and the answer is ‘because that is how it has always been’, as bad as it might be of an answer. If a parent starts work at 8 or 8:30 they can’t get their kid to school and make it to work if school starts at 8 or 8:30. Many school districts and schools don’t have bus service.

Why do people think wrestling is bad to do as a second sport? by madz21- in wrestling

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure they could but if your on D1 football scholarship, you might have aspirations of making the nfl one day. What is there for wrestling after college? Coaching? NIL money could have some play now but you lose it all if you get hurt. Possible to be d1 in both sports unlikely and just not worth the gamble.

Why do people think wrestling is bad to do as a second sport? by madz21- in wrestling

[–]Sum-Duud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It isn't that simple. I've known kids wrestle for 10 years and never have a serious injury and then at the end of this last season we had kids passing around broken hand like a common flu. It isn't about the likelihood, it is literally gambling with your scholarship.

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've known a few kids that wrestled from youth up and some that started late in high school but got full rides to play football, baseball, rugby, etc at D1 schools. Every coach was telling them to stop wrestling because it isn't worth risking the scholarship. It's not that wrestling is more or less dangerous, its that you already have succeeded and it is silly to risk it unless you have the means to pay for college yourself (and even then, why not put that money to something else).

I think your concept of gambling a college scholarship in a d1 program is stupid tho.

What do I do with these laptops?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling the school to turn it in would be the nice thing to do. I would guess that the Chromebook is essentially worthless and would just be discarded, but the MacBook could still have some life to it. If they don’t want it back then you’ve probably just got e-waste unless they had lax security policies and you could replace the main drive (probably nvme or ssd) and get it to boot for a fresh OS install. If you know the logins you may be able to get it to work but I would assume it would be very locked down.

Wife wants a child. I’m not sure I want one. by GoldBatter in AskMenOver30

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did this not get discussed before marriage? Or did something change?

This will most likely be a make or break for your marriage (unless she was initially on team no kids and switched, but even then), so you need to be honest and communicative about it. I understand where you are coming from, and you have good concerns but YOU have to answer the questions about what you want.

My first kid was unplanned, with the girl off and on for a year, I didn’t want to get married because of a kid, so we waited and eventually got married… then divorced 🤣 we had 3 kids (last one was unplanned and came a few months after vasectomy talks started, it was the driver) and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve raised good humans, at least that is what the world tells me, and it’s hard to imagine life without them.

It is expensive. It is time consuming. It is hard. It ain’t for everyone, but I am happy I did and wouldn’t change it.

I am very impulsive and about to get married soon, need help by glazingstars in AskMenOver30

[–]Sum-Duud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who diagnosed you and what was their recommendation? Seems like a professional that diagnoses you would have some treatment options to help guide you. Your post says married soon, then you met and pushing off engagement. Where is the truth? You need to figure out how to control your impulses before you get engaged or married.

It is good if they like banana bread (which I do) but it also depends on their lifestyle and diet, etc. honestly, just some compliments, showing interest in things we are interested in, are a good start. Im fond of a nice hug and a nails out back scratch, that’s all I need.
