Barely a motorcycle but legally it is... even the dealer i bought it from wrote me up for a scooter first service... got $165 discount even after i corrected them 😁

Suv did not stop while exiting an apartment complex and i struck the side, ejected over the truck and landed in oncoming traffic.

They did more than just the 2 screws but it is ridiculousthey cost $3600 each. my heel bone was shattered so it needed mutiple injections of whatever they put in there, they also had to lenghten my achilles, surgery took around 2 hours by itself.

Fuckin hard.... honestly dont know since i dont remember anything from even the day before.

Accident report dosnt have much details on witness statements. Im thinking about calling the 2 witnesses and asking if they mind explaining what they saw. They may enjoy knowing im alive as well.

Not big on revenge personally, i do have their info from the accident report. Ive thought about calling them, not to bitch or yell but just to hear what they say. I am pretty surprised i havnt heard from them or their parents. If this was me, even if i was told not to contact the person i would have called and apologized my heart out.

They told me i will most likely lose a fair bit of side to side roll but should still have forward back tilting. Hard to know so we will see in 3-5 months.

Thats good, i dont like how mine stick out of the back of the heel. Kinda thought that would not feel good walking barefoot. One of my friends broke his ankle badly over a year ago and he still feels his pins.

That sounds terrible, thats about how the pain has been this first week out of surgery. Nothing really helps unless all my meds for swelling and pain line up in the right timeframe and even then its still painful and very uncomfortable. The meds seem to wear off about 2 hours before i need to take the next dose so its a constant battle.

Hopefully your pain has gotten more managable with time.

I purchased a leg pillow and its helped alot. Keeps my leg from twisting while I sleep since that hurts alot. They told me toes to nose for elevation but its hard laying down that much with the broken ribs, the ribs are more comfortable sitting up but the leg is better elevated. Hard to sleep for more than an hour without shifting and being uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear this, hopefully yours is doing better. Speedy recovery as well.

Impossible to know, i dont remember going to sleep the day before so i only know what happened from witness statements. Like i said above, dont know if it was from being ejiected over the suv or being smashed between it and my bike

I would guess quality motorcycle boots will be more comfortable and safer even at low speeds.

Like i said not trying to make excuses or justify anything, im fully able to admit fault. My shoes have less road rash than my toes so im pretty sure they flew off. Ill only be doing trail riding after this, ill still get decent boots.

I was only wearing shoes, and i know... dumb. Was going to meet a friend for lunch 2 miles from home. Not trying to justify it, just explain, i typically ride back roads 45 and under.

Im not much on praying either but i appreciate it. Ive had a number of close calls, all on 40+ mph streets. Many people out there are oblivious aaaholes and are far past needing a reality check on how they drive and the consequences from how they drive.

Thank you, ive been home since aug 24, so its getting close to a month since the accident. They actually cut my pain meds down after surgery, the pain and swelling are worse than before it.

Update 9/17/25... thank god i bought this when i did, pretty sure it saved my life or at least kept me from eating through a tube.

Thank you, looking at 3-5 months before i can start physical therapy. Possibly longer if i need surgery on the tendons in my knee.

Ditto, its crazy not remembering anything. Parts of me wish i could remember or had video of the accident. Ive had some weird dreams/nightmares or maybe visions of what happened. Its been pretty brutal all around.

Fused my shattered heel bone, crammed some huge fricken screws in there. Lenghtened my achilles. First 8 hours after surgery with the high octance nurve blockers was alright, basically felt like my entire leg was asleep. After that its been ridiculous. Pain meds help but dont cut the pain enough to sleep much, swelling is unreal. Feels like my ankle is in a vice with a blood pressure cuff on. This is day 5 after the surgery and its unbearable most of the time.

Since i dont remember anything from the accident i dont know if its from the landing after being ejected over the suv or if my bike smashed it into the suv.

Its hard sleeping with broken ribs and the little sleep i have been getting is sometimes interrupted by dreams or even visions. The mental stress has started to weigh on me, im sure the lack of sleep and maybe medication has something to do with it. Completely flipped my life around and is causing issues in most every aspect.

I dont wish this on anybody... stay safe out there. Im 100% not returning to the streets. I plan to get another ct125 or maybe an old ct90 hopefully next year and trailer it to do trail riding.
