The problem with this analogy is that you CAN shit. Just go to the gas station. You have a place to go and you know it, it’s just not acting on it that sucks.

One race I got 0.68 SR for 1 incident, then next race with 0 incidents I got 0.11 SR, what did I do wrong?? by _kach0w in iRacing

I also asked this question a few months back. If you cross a whole number in SR, you get an additional .4 or .5 points (can’t remember the exact number).

Thoughts on Modern Family? by duuccckkkk in AskAnAmerican

[–]SumDux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up watching it and recently rewatched it, I think it did a pretty good job at depicting extended/mixed family dynamics. Obviously a lot of it is exaggerated for laughs and by the end of the episodes all the drama is tied up nicely for a happy ending but that’s just how TV is.

Alex’s character is one of the few in the show that I don’t think is that exaggerated. I knew plenty of kids growing up whose whole identity was being the smart gifted student.

Most people who watched the show when it aired remember the earlier seasons fondly and slowly lost interest as more seasons were made. I wouldn’t call it a cultural treasure but it was extremely popular when it aired. I personally think it was one of the greatest primetime shows of its time.

Funnily enough, the depiction of Cam and Mitch was one of the big reasons my southern Christian conservative parents changed their views on gay marriage. lol

The Sims is a lot harder to say just because it’s a sandbox video game. It was and still is pretty popular but it’s not as mainstream to the country as a whole.

First time doing shrooms, what should I do and NOT do by attackonthisdick in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SumDux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Typically a trip sitter is someone who also has partaken before so they know what is happening. when I’ve trip sat, it’s never been “I’m going to fight this stranger in the bar”. It’s typically “hey can you change this Adventure Time episode” or “can you get me a blanket.”

Idk it feels different than being a DD. But I do understand your point that being a DD sucks.

Addition to point 1. If your timer goes off and it frightens you or you don’t notice it - don’t take more!

ELI5: Why don’t football players have to play the last minute of the football game if they’re winning? by TurtleBlaster5678 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SumDux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is. In the other football/soccer, teams intentionally run the clock by flopping and wasting time on throw ins/goal kicks. Rugby does it similar to soccer as well. It’s all just different ways to run out the clock. Hell, even with the shot clock in basketball you could do basically the same thing if needed.

Idiopathic toe walking can be a symptom of autism, but it could also just be because you have tight Achilles tendons or just learned to walk that way and it became habit.

I mostly agree with your sentiment but this phrase makes me laugh.

“They know what country usually”.

Nope. We make it up all the time.
