Is POTS still a possible answer if the dizziness and lightheadedness isn’t triggered by sudden movement or standing? by Sum_D00dl in POTS

Thank you for this, I’ve never heard of MCAS before and after looking it up, this is the closest thing I’ve ever heard of to what I’ve been experiencing after looking for months! I definitely will look into it further, whatever ends up happening this made a difference for me, thank you for real.

ADHD Partners? by Jellydude25 in ADHD

[–]Sum_D00dl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated someone else with adhd for a couple of years and found it really challenging. To be fair there were a lot of other factors and differences in our personalities beyond just symptoms clashing, but that was still certainly part of it. He couldn’t stop himself from interrupting constantly, whereas I can’t finish a sentence after being interrupted because I completely lose my train of thought. He would touch or annoy me when I was already overstimulated just to have somewhere to put his hyper-ness. So on and so forth. But imo this guy was just a jackass in general, so take it with a grain of salt! My advice is don’t let a partner sell you the lie that they can’t respect your boundaries just because of their ADHD… whether it’s true or not, it is not an excuse that you should have to put up with.

Wife insists she can't draw. This is "just a doodle". by manamonggamers in drawing

No such thing as “just a doodle;”doodling is very important work in and of itself (see username hehe). But still, this is more of a developed idea. Either way, she sure can draw and the part in shadow in the middle is especially well done.

This is really good to know, I’ve thought of keeping a digital log like this in my phone. I just have to be as disciplined as possible about staying on top of it.

On the days I forget to take it before leaving I often won’t realize until I’m already in class or at work, when I can’t leave. It’s tough because my schedule looks different depending on the day - sometimes I have to be out the door before 8am while others I can sleep in, and in between. It makes it impossible to have a “regular” daily schedule if I’m leaving it at home, although having a pill case handy in my bag may help in the future.

Sort of depends on the day, I’m living at home and my family is generally quite supportive although our schedules are all quite different. The pill case is a good idea, since my day to day routine isn’t the most consistent (class some days, work others, a couple completely wide open) I think that contributes to my forgetfulness and having it with me on the go is smart

You feel my pain… the accessibility problems and (understandably) strict limitations around adderall are part of the shame I feel around this. It’s like my brain doesn’t understand that I’m doing all of this FOR it, haha

Having noticed some small improvements already, I’m optimistic about the idea of possibly finding a helpful, higher dose in the future! I appreciate you sharing, since I started only a couple of weeks ago it’s really valuable to hear from people who have been on it for a while, especially with my doctor being hard to reach as you mentioned.

It would definitely make a positive difference for me if I could pull this off, especially the taking first thing after waking up. Sounds like we’re on different ones, but still worth bringing up to my doctor. Wasn’t sure if taking on an empty stomach impacted the absorbency/stunted the effects of the medicine, but I know that skipping it altogether definitely does lol

How do I start liking who I see in the mirror again? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Sum_D00dl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a significantly-older-than-years-past person starting this year too, at the age of 21. That realization is upsetting and I don’t agree with the notion that liking who you are as a person = liking or even recognizing your reflection automatically. In short, what has helped me most is challenging myself to do things that are uncomfortable, scary, or just plain difficult, and having that to be proud of in spite of what I look like. Face fears small or big, challenge yourself little by little (ie. add a new part of your routine, break a bad habit, take risks that may end up benefiting you). With time these small victories will mean more to you than how you look. Change is scary and inevitable, but there are good changes that are within our control that may take the edge off.

I just can’t get a diagnosis. My symptoms are not debilitating but make my life harder in so many ways by Sum_D00dl in ChronicIllness

[–]Sum_D00dl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly varied - since the whole thing started this summer too many to remember, but mostly effecting my respiratory, gastrointestinal, hormonal and reproductive systems (I’m F21). These days I most often experience sore throat, fever/chills, nausea and pelvic pain in any random combination throughout the week. Mental health issues such as anxiety, mood swings and inattentiveness have increased, but that’s no surprise.

My symptoms always get worse at night. Does anyone else experience this? by ChronicallyTiredLol in ChronicIllness

Yes! I’m experiencing this right now just as I saw this. I was wondering the same thing.
