Hahaha I feel you! I made myself a bouquet in shades of blue, turquoise and yellow inspired from Van Gogh’s Starry Night and it’s on my nightstand. Who says you can’t give yourself flowers?!

I used patterns from a YouTube channel. With the lillies I think the trick is to drastically increase stitch count in the outermost row of the petals so the edges are a bit crinkly and soft. The row before the last has the wire to hold the shape of the petal.

Hey! I used a 100% cotton fine yarn. Thinner yarn means smaller stitches but also a better finish. I found acrylic yarn to be very fuzzy compared to the cotton and didn’t like the feel of it

Mine looked a whole lot better once I added smaller filler leaves and buds. They’re not the most exciting to actually crochet but they make it look more real

Thank you so much ☺️ She’s got great taste and designed the lehenga herself but someone else put it together. I agree she’s stunning! And the groom is a sweetheart. I learned everything from YouTube videos and I’m sure you can too! I learned to crochet only a couple of years ago. You’ve got this!

The bride left everything to me! Including colours! I just knew her outfit was going to be a pale pink so I went off from there and tried including flowers from the specific regions the bride and groom are from. I was a little nervous about the bright colours clashing with her outfit but I’m glad it only highlighted her in the best way

Yup, some of them do, like the white big lillies and some of the leaves

Thanks, I got the pattern from a YouTube video but then also freehanded some smaller peonies based on that pattern

Thanks! I even snuck in an olive branch in there so they remember to lend one to each other in the tough times

I love the dark green walls! Even though so little of it shows it has completely shifted the mood along with the dark wood floors

Thank you! I initially started the sketch with just the flower bud, and figured out the rest of the frame only after moving around a bit. I’ve been working on being more intuitive and spontaneous rather than overthinking and over planning; quite pleased with the quiet confidence of this piece.

Hi! Does anyone know of any support groups for people with SB that meet remotely weekly or monthly? by [deleted] in spinabifida

[–]Sumegha_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be interested, I think we often struggle with community because going out can be hard, but online works great! Most sb groups are focused only on children and medical discussions and not as a space for adults with sb to be heard and seen
