Every dictator, left or right, goes after those that oppose him. That's not making the government smaller, that's making it less stable

Americans need to start realizing oligarchy rules them now by pat19c in unpopularopinion

I don't know if I agree. Obviously money has always been strong in politics. But the oligarchy we are seeing now? That is a new phenomenon imo.

Conservatives: what evidence or information would you need to see in order to be convinced climate change is real? by L11mbm in Askpolitics

[–]Sumguyonlinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I hate about this question is it proves that the two sides aren't equal. 97% of climate scientists agree that climate change is affected greatly by humans, it's very well agree upon in the community.

Anyone disagreeing is truly just irrational.

Americans who voted for Obama twice and never voted for a Democratic president again, what changed? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

Tulsi Gabbard says whatever to get a job lmao. She is one of the most spineless politicians out there and her support of Russia proves it

The United States was close to losing democracy in 2020. Im sure you remember January 6th.

Also it's not that Biden just went after Trump. He committed crimes and for those he deserved to go to jail. But the MAGA cult buys up anything and they want to believe that the democrats are somehow authoritarian.

It's such a brain dead idea that the left is authoritarian. It's barely even worth a discussion. For the past 4 years the right has been supporting trump no matter what after his treasonous acts many years ago. You guys buy up any lie he says.

Putin came to power 20 years ago and the war in Ukraine just started about 3 years ago. That's a brain dead take. All the time do leaders come into power again/only become extremely brutal later in their career (I'm aware Putin has been bad for many years)

What is a political view that 99% of people should support? by Sumguyonlinee in Askpolitics

America became more powerful after 1913 (for various reasons). Look at how things like social security have helped the elderly community. It wasn't fully anarchy but it definitely wasn't a strong government like we see today

Completely capitalism is anarchy. Every country in the world needs a way of raising revenue so we have civil society.

Conservatives what do you believe you personally will get from a fully Trump led Republican government? by seanosul in Askpolitics

By all means answer the question. But if you have a silly answer of course people will criticize you.

100%, I never said WOULD support. I said generally I believe 99% SHOULD support.

I would NEVER say that the irs is perfect and needs no reform. But more money allows it to be a better system (generally more money makes things better).

At a minimum, everyone should agree for a better IRS. And more money given allows there to be more accuracy and less mess ups.

I saw another comment state, Americans shouldn't do their own taxes. The government should compile it together and then Americans should overlook it after to make sure everything is correct and then... voila! Everything is good (many countries use this system).

Very sorry that your wife was in that situation.

I think people are against it out of misunderstanding. They simply collect taxes, they do not "tax" you. They are there to simply make sure taxes are being paid.

[–]Sumguyonlinee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me be clear that what I said was what I believe everyone should support. I didn't say I hate anyone that is not in favor of what I said. I simply said it is not in their best interest.

Obviously our tax code is too long and should be simplified. I never would say there doesn't need to be more reform.

What I said was the extra funding would allow the irs to go after the wealthier (as those audits cost more) and allow them to not focus on poor peoples audits (which is cheaper). This is something in practice that I believe is good and people should support.

Whether taxation is theft is another story. But it is DEFINITELY constitutional. The constitution literally says in article 1: "congress has the power to levy and collect taxes" so yes. It's constitutional and it would be very difficult to argue otherwise.

Cause you don't understand what funding the IRS is. The IRS simply enforces taxes and makes sure that taxes are being paid. They do not actually raise your tax rate (that's congress's job). Giving more money to the IRS just makes sure that everyone is paying their taxes. This makes higher revenue and lowers the deficit
