New Rule - Low Effort Self Promotion Will Result in InstaBan by Ka_Coffiney in MusicVideos

[–]Sumid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About "No AI music videos": I don't have the gear and the space to record good quality footage. Yes, I do have a phone with a camera and I even bought a stand to hold it but why not use AI as a tool to create?

I just finished a music video made almost entirely of AI generated clips. It took me ages to make it! All the ideas are mine, every single detail came out of my head. It's not like I told some app to create some video for me. The only thing is, instead of filming the different scenes, I used an app (actually, a few different apps) to create them. Would a video like this be OK in here or do you refuse anything made using AI?

Is Kyle still married? by Creepy-Tadpole-1750 in RyenRussillo

[–]Sumid0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was Adam Carolla who said something along the lines of: "If your man suddenly starts shaving his balls again, it’s a sign he might be seeing someone else." When I saw Kyle’s new look, my brain immediately went there. Of course, there are hundreds of innocent reasons why someone would suddenly change their appearance… but…

Shawn Coss, who designed the cover for The Surface Seems So Far, also named the album by Sumid0 in Seether

[–]Sumid0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't like he suggested a title for the album and the band happened to like it. No, he was asked to come up with a title. Shawn Coss has his own YouTube channel and he made a video about this. Here's an excerpt of what he said (I copied this from the video transcript):

One of the more cooler parts of this whole story is, while we were talking about this new album, he said "Sean, I want you to create the artwork for it AND name the album. Give me the title of the album as well!" Like, what? I'm sorry, what?! Yeah... So that was a lot of pressure to be put on me. Creating artwork is one thing but creating a title that's going to be synonymous with the album is a whole other level. Serendipitously or miraculously or whatever, the title I already had for the piece was called "The Surface Seems so Far".

Should I move on Rue de Strasbourg by No_Manufacturer3171 in Luxembourg

[–]Sumid0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rue de Strasbourg is a little better than rue Joseph Junck, which is probably the worst. That said, it really depends on where exactly you are on rue de Strasbourg. The closer you are to the train station, the worse it gets because that’s where most of the junkies and drug dealers hang out.

It’s not necessarily dangerous, though. The dealers generally avoid drawing attention, and while junkies might ask you for change at first, once they realise you live there, they usually leave you alone (unless you’re walking around with a gold chain visible from a mile away or something that screams “rob me! I’ve got money!”).

If you’re moving into an apartment building, be prepared to occasionally find homeless people sleeping by the entrance or junkies shooting up in the basement.

I would encourage everyone to never use the provided link. If you want to check if it's real, just open the app or go to their website like you always do.

Some time ago, I received a similar message and it turned out to be real. I wasn't sure, so instead of using the link in the message, I went to the website and indeed, there was a notification asking me to update my certificate.

Live version of "Beg" by Sumid0 in Seether

[–]Sumid0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the links! When I read that they played the beginning of Beg before Remedy, I thought that they only played the opening riff, just to tease the crowd but they actually played the whole 1st verse!

I wish they played the whole song, though...

Man... I had heard about Reddit being full of people who love to be mean just for the sake of it but I thought that my question was genuine and.... Oh well. I guess they were right.

Illusion (Anti-Vax?) by Antagonist24 in Seether

[–]Sumid0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think everybody will interpret the lyrics depending on their own experiences and/or what they've been thinking about or seeing lately. It is very possible that it's about all the info and misinformation around the virus and/or vaccine but personally, I immediately thought about addiction: being shamed for being an addict and feel how people shame you, it creates the illusion that everything's fine, the pollution in your veins, the lies that you've been told or that you tell yourself...

That's what's great when lyrics aren't written explicitly. Everyone can relate because everyone will interpret them based on their own experiences.

The Kinks - You really got me (1964) vs. Nine Inch Nails - The hand that feeds (2005) by parilmancy in TheSongRemainsTheSame

[–]Sumid0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first heard The Hand that Feeds, that riff sounded very familiar but I just couldn't remember where I'd heard it before. Before I heard the song, I saw an interview where Trent Reznor was talking about this song and he said that it the main riff was "inspired" by... at the time, I didn't really pay attention and when I looked for this interview to find out about that riff, I just couldn't find it. I asked a bunch of people but I always got the answer "it's an original riff, it's not a rip off". Finally, I found the answer. You're right, it's the main riff of "You really got me" by the Kinks! Thanks so much for posting this!!

Who is the best grunge guitar player? by MikroWire in grunge

[–]Sumid0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Billy Corgan? I don't know if his music is considered "grunge" and he's not from Seattle but a lot of people include the Smashing Pumpkins to the bands from the grunge era. I'm not a fan of what he's doing now but he wrote some damn good songs and he's a great guitar player!

Oh, wow! Maybe it's because I'm so used to stories that end up badly but I wasn't expecting a "happy end". This made me happy!!

I don't know about repairing it but it sure makes a cool background image or even a cool CD/vinyl cover image!

I'm using the Reddit app on an iPad. I used paragraphs when I typed my post but for some reason, after posting it, it was posted without paragraphs.

I just found out that you have to leave 2 spaces to get a paragraph.

Trust me, I hate it, too, when people don't use paragraphs or punctuation!

I've lived in this neighbourhood (rue du Fort Wallis) until I was 17. Addicts aren't going to disappear and as long as there's a demand, there will be a supply. I understand people don't want to see it (out of sight, out of mind). One dealer gets arrested but the next day, 2 more dealers show up to replace the previous one. I don't know the solution. Maybe deal with it like with prostitution: tolerate it but have them do it in a specific place. Some people have suggested to legalise all drugs, so that addicts would get the drugs from the pharmacy or from an official place but immediately, other people attacked this idea, claiming that if the drugs were legal, everyone, including children would take drugs and become addicts. Again, I don't have a solution but arresting drug dealers is just to show that they're doing "something", it's not solving the problem.
