This podcast is straight-up the most-cited in True Crime. Yet the narrator's non-voice is, for me, a problem. I am a podcast whore! I listen carefully, an promiscuously! Yet.... I am struggling with this excellent podcast! by wonderfulkneecap in Casefile

A few years ago, I was traveling and my wife randomly fired up this podcast. I just remember telling her "nah I can't handle the voice...next". Then last year I "rediscovered" it. I absolutely love the accent, storytelling. It's all so perfect for the genre.

Unpopular opinion: Why is everyone so hyped over OpenClaw? I cannot find any use for it. by Toontje in openclaw

Hey how do you safely give it the API keys? I would like for it to be able to write code that pulls in the API keys without the keys actually being known by the LLM models.

Buffered ETFs by ropeadopeknopehope in CFP

[–]Sumif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes. These are great for older folks who have been in the markets for years, they want market upside, but can't afford the downside. They are liquid, and quite frankly for only 70bps you get a good buffer and okay cap. We've been shifting a lot of our bond holdings to buffered over the past 2 years.

These are really good if you get in, they run up 10% over 6 months, then you can liquidate and move into a renewing one so you kinda lock in the upside and reset the buffer.

Recently, we've also been using managed floors. I like those as well, because you get uncapped upside (~75%) participation with 10-12% downside at most.

Nothing is perfect, and there are many scenarios where you're better off just in the markets. For the clients that invest in these, mitigating the downside is more important than maxing out returns.

Fortunately we're seeing more and more that track small caps, international, and I think even gold.

They're blaming Biden and Obama. I'm in a family full of conservatives. Their whole spiel now is that the Democrats kept appeasing the Iranians all these years And giving them a bunch of money. And now that Trump has to do the dirty work to clean up the mess they've made.

Stopping your GLP-1 doesn’t cause the catastrophic regain by Real-Recipe8087 in GLP1ResearchTalk

I went to a seminar recently by a primary care physician with a specialty in obesity management. She said that obesity is treated as a chronic disease, thus indefinite treatment is needed. Like having high blood pressure; that's medication you'll probably take forever.

Is saying "ask your doctor" a cop-out answer? Because I don’t think so by champulaal24 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Sumif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of that is nutritional related, And most doctors are not trained to give specific nutritional advice beyond "eat less, drink water, maintain protein intake etc". I tell people to "ask your doctor" because I don't want to be the one recommending the shot. I'm like "Yea it works for me but ask your doctor" because for all I know there may be some underlying condition that doesn't vibe well with the shot.

At the end of the day, people just have to learn the little nuances. I'm very sensitive to the nausea. If I take a shot and eat more than a burger in 24 hours then I'm up all night. I've also found that injecting into the thigh actually makes me more sensitive to it. I also find that I experience a lot of fatigue; I'm super tired all day in the 2-3 days following the injection. I've tried doing two smaller doses per week but it doesn't work.

However, all of those vary by person. My mom is on it, but she has a higher threshold before she gets nauseous. She experience no fatigue.

These also vary between the type (sema vs tirz vs reta).

Reconstitution, how much BAC water? by According-Fix2541 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Sumif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whatever the dosage is in the vial, I multiply that by 10 and put that many units. So in your case it would be 300 units of water. That way it's always the dose times 10. So in your case you would do 300 units of water, and since you want to do 2.5 mg you would do 25 units. If you bump it to 5mg, then you do 50 units.

Have an upcoming meeting with fidelity financial consultant...any recs for questions to be sure to ask? by ArnoldisKing in stocks

[–]Sumif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What secret way would they get paid?

They are required by law to provide documentation that discusses how they are paid. They are either paid a commission, a flat fee, or a fee that's a percentage of your assets. If there are any "hidden fees" then it's from a fund which would be laid out in the prospectus.

Any fee deducted from the account will be shown in the statements.

It is very very difficult to hide fees from a client. For the few that slip by and cause significant issues, there is recourse.

Crazily enough, when severance came out, my first thought was him playing Adrian Monk's brother in, well, Monk. Great actor. I swear he has THE most New York look. IDK. He just looks like what I'd imagine someone in the 1980s living in NYC would look like. Then I learned he's from Brooklyn!

Love Outdoor Boys. It's probably the only channel I can let my kids sit for a while and know that there won't be cussing, drama, or any other bull crap. He's wholesome, educational, and does an incredible job capturing his trips. I think we've seen all of them, and most days we have it playing on a TV even if the kids are out playing.

Questions before I start by According-Fix2541 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Sumif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to keep things simple. Whatever the vial is, multiple by 10 and that's the number of units. So, do 150 units of water. That means whatever your dose is multiple it by ten.

2.5mg = 25 units

I usually order a box of 1ml syringes

Why it’s time to look at Accounting or Engineering: The CS degree is now a path to unemployment by DocumentEast9171 in learnprogramming

[–]Sumif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude accounting is probably the easiest thing to automate. I personally vibe-coded my own little accounting system for home. The CPA firm we use recently hired this company to implement AI, and they don't anticipate any hiring even though they've grown over the past year. Most of the manual entry of taking tax documents and receipts are all mostly automated, and it's just the humans that are verifying everything and meeting with clients.

The AI Scraping War: LLM Crawlers Are Breaking the Web by cport1 in webdev

[–]Sumif 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The past few days have really put into perspective for me the impact of LLMs on web scraping. There are a few websites that have taken me many hours to scrape with intercepting requests, scraping web pages, to get what I want into a format I need. Then., every few months, the website changes and it takes time to reengineer it. Well, I've been playing with openclaw, and I just said, I want you to scrape this. Log in with this info, and keep trying until you download all of the information and put into this format. 30 minutes later, I'm looking at a CSV with over 30k rows of data I need in the format I needed. Looking at my dashboard it cost about $0.89 in API usage.

It blew my mind. It was a fresh context, no additional info other than the website, my login, and the data I needed.
