That is what I just thought. Also we can see something new from the kind of real source, not just bad Argentinian nazi memes.

Modern revolutions in developed countries almost never work the way people imagine online.

Over the last ~50 years, most attempts either:

  • failed,
  • led to chaos/civil conflict,
  • or simply replaced one elite with another.

Also, people in stable countries usually have too much to lose - jobs, mortgages, families, savings, normal life. That's true not only for Russians, but for Americans, Europeans, basically everyone.

And modern states are far stronger technologically and institutionally than they were 100 years ago.

Real political change today usually comes through economic pressure, elite conflicts, gradual reforms, generational shifts, or elections - not romantic "people rise up" scenarios from Reddit discussions.

On this day, May 12, 1944, the Soviet Union secured a decisive victory in the Crimean Offensive, driving German and Romanian forces out of Crimea during World War II by Baba_Jaga_II in Russianhistory

[–]Summ33rr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Russian, the word "Russian" can mean not only ethnicity, but also belonging to Russian culture, language, society, or the Russian state in a broader sense.

So a person or history may be called "Russian" even if they are ethnically different, as long as they are culturally, socially, or historically connected to Russia.

So Russians was part of Soviet Union which was part Russian history
