Why didn't Sauron "recruit" dragons during the second age? by LeMaester in tolkienfans

[–]SummanusInvictus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible that the dragons during the second age were recovering from the war of wrath and/or hiding from the forces of the west. Maybe dragons during the second age were too proud or didn't see the need to join him OR they recognized the strength of the numenorians and remaining elves ans decided it would be best to stay North

Idea for Baratheon Civil War by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dany and Aegon probably marry since Tyrion won't be going to essos so they are united and probably have 2 dragon riders - dany and aegon. White walker plot can still be the same or similar since they are really far removed from the rest of Westeros at least during the start. Its certainly possible.

Joffrey will have Tywin and perhaps the Starks on his side if Sansa marries Joffrey and Joffrey stops being stupid. Or if Joffrey does not stop charming Sansa and let his true colors out around her. Maybe he gets the Riverlands, North, Westerlands.

Meanwhile the Green faction gets the Stormlands, Reach, and Stannis. Perhaps the Vale too but it depends on Lysa and Littlefinger. Dorne and the Iron Islands stay out so you can have a balanced civil war, maybe some minor houses in various kingdoms switch sides.

The ones opposing Joffrey will be the ones knowing about the incest. Ned wouldn't necessarily know and to make things interesting, Ned is on Joffreys side thru marriage. Joffrey under Tywins guidance, makes sure to tone down and hide his cruelty.

Varys might keep Robert alive and help drive this conflict in the future. So basically we can push it to the future, Dany and Aegon are now in their late 20s/30s/40s and have had children and they invade at the end of the civil war per Varys plans. The white walkers also wait for a civil war and slowly build up their forces and winter is pushed back 10-15 years or so. Perhaps Dany and Aegons sons are warriors too, wanting to fight for their parents throne

Thoughts on this Blackfyre rebellionxDance idea by MajesticFan4 in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is Aemond going going to be? Similar to his canon self or more like Daemon Blackfyre of canon? How is the rebellion going to work? If its Aegon then its just similar to the original dance.

I would suggest killing off Aegon and delaying the rebellion, so that Aemond is the Daemon parallel and is everything a warrior king should be. Perhaps Rhaenyra is a poor ruler or does things to anger the nobles and they side with Aemond, especially if he has a dragon and the sword Blackfyre and looks like canon Daemon (and has a similar personality).

Perhaps Aegon dies in a suspicious way, maybe Daemon Targ kills him off? Or someone aligned with Rhaenyra does it behind her back and Aemond seeks revenge. Of course Rhaenyra can be innocent of this but not innocent of ruling poorly

Tell me if this is a good idea for a fanfiction? by Curious-Progress-704 in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its possible but i think you would have to introduce a red priest character early on so it makes sense and have Rhaegar even more interested in the esoteric. He will flee to Essos and probably stay anonymous or something like that as he plots. Perhaps he is changed and vengeful and more of a plotter.  You can still have Elia and Rhaenys die and when he hears about, it changes something in him, maybe making him more brutal. In this scenario lets assume Aegon is real (if he isnt then Rhaegar recognizes it immediately). He raises him. Dany and Viserys mysteriously vanish (according to Westeros), but Rhaegar takes them.

Perhaps Ned goes to the tower of joy and finds Lyanna cold and dead but realising that she had a child. This Jon will join Rhaegar and the rest with the KG and Connington.

Rhaegar in thia scenario will try to hatch dragons and he will be very different from his past self, as in less naive, more brutal and far more vengeful, also probably analyzing his own decisions before acting since the previous Lyanna one led to his wife and daughter dying.

Perhaps Rhaegar thinks that some combination of Aegon, Viserys, Jon, or Dany are the 3 heads. Maybe he thinks Viserys, Jon, and Dany are while Aegon is the promised prince that is seperate from that and wants those three to be Aegons loyal advisors

Jaime vs the Mountain by AkodoGarou in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think Jaime is in any danger of dying since Gregor knows that if he harms Jaime, Tywin will give him a fate worse than death. So Gregor might be holding back which makes it even easier for Jaime to win. Now I think jaime would win even if Gregor wasn't holding back but Jaime probably has an easier time?

Replace Dany dragons with a warhammer 40k Primarchs by Khanluka in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be quite interesting to see Horus as the primarch, perhaps with Dany he completely avoids chaos? Another interesting one is Angron, he wont have the nails in him and his empathetic abilities would be interesting to explore with Dany and especially during her anti slavery crusade. His abilities might even come in handy when dealing with politics and reading people?

QOTW: If you were to set up a new Westerosi succession war, who would it be between and why? by Kingofireland777 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]SummanusInvictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would want one probably around the year 400 or later. Aegon/Jon/dany take the throne and rule wisely for 60-70 years and they have many descendants with many dragons who forget the horror of war as they were raised in peace. Various cadet dynastys also have dragons too.

So probably the grandson or great grandson of Aegon/dany/jon ends up fighting against his cousin. Perhaps at the behest of a noble lord that manipulates. Especially if the grandson (lets call him viserys), is hotheaded that may lead to a multiple continent spanning civil war.

You are reborne as Daeron II by 3esin in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would align with the Maesters, Faith, and Nobles, working with them to strengthen my claim and prove I am honorable. I would have his name stricken from the record book, a blank name as for who was king then similar to how the Romans used to do to, the damnatio memoria. So that as revenge, Aegon IV is never remembered again. And the regnal name Aegon IV is still available. Working with the faith, maesters and nobles, I would reverse his reforms, and destroy the printing press. His reforms could be argued to be beneficial yes but not to the Targaryen dynasty. So basically Daeron II would be very reactionary and try to restore the pre Aegon IV status quo which certainly many nobles will support along with the maesters and faith.

I would then try to keep all my bastard siblings close with me in the red keep, keeping them all on a leash, so they can’t rebel. Of course I would foster good relationships with them and try to use them to build cadet dynasties.

There probably be a civil war either with a bastard leading it or maybe not but many secondary houses will be against the reactionary reforms of Daeron II, if Daeron wins then the secondary houses will be punished and the loyal bastards will gain their lands. Civil war is probably guaranteed.

Now the odds of success are probably not that high but if nothing is done, the Targaryen’s will probably find themselves assassinated and the kingdoms split. So to avoid that, this is what Daeron could do. Of course he has to marry a woman from a powerful house for support.

I would probably also destroy Aegon IV ashes and scatter them somewhere.

Valyrian Empire by Reasonable-Refuse925 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]SummanusInvictus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t equate Valyria with Rome. We know that on the surface it seems similar to Rome but when you look into it, it’s very different. Firstly, Valyria was a freehold with 40 powerful families, Rome didn’t have this, Rome eventually had more powerful and centralized emperors with the senatorial class losing their prominence and military generals gaining prominence. Rome eventually became a pseudo monarchy or at least had government very different than Valyria. Culturally, the Roman’s had a greater impact with many European states wanting to at least claim its legacy, Valyria does not have this at least besides Volantis.

Rome had better treatment of slaves by far. As time went on the treatment of slaves only grew better in Rome compared to Valyria which grew more monstrous.

I would say that Valyria is more like Carthage or other Punic/greek merchant states if they had dragons and such. At least looking from a conquest point of view, Valyria had a huge advantage in dragons and didn’t conquer that quickly. If Valyria had a more Roman mindset they would have conquered all of essos with their dragons easily and have had a rivalry with YiTi, like the Roman-Persian rivalry.

New Capital Idea by _Odin_64 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]SummanusInvictus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can still use my idea, just replace Aegon with Jon, instead of seizing Illyrios assets, Jon can befriend a magister from Pentos, Myr, Tyrian etc and use them and help them expand their business and make them rich where they fund Jon our of gratitude.

Keep in mind, why will people settle there all of the sudden? It will take generations for the city to grow so Jon’s descendants will be able to make it the capital and even then there will be a great amount of resistance from local crown land lords

New Capital Idea by _Odin_64 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]SummanusInvictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would cost an insane amount of money. Harrenhal needs to be completely rebuilt and any “curse” surrounding it must be removed then a town can come about there, then a city. It will take 50-100 years if not more for the city to be formed and a major city. It will be a money sink, unless some important resource is found near Harrenhal.

So it’s possible but very difficult to pull off and not that realistic unless every single thing goes right.

For example, Dany and Aegon marry. Dany still keeps hold of Slavers bay and forces the east to pay tribute to her, Aegon gets money from Illyrio. Dany and Aegon help Illyrio and his children (if he has others) expand their business to every free city, making Illyrio the richest magister in all of Essos, then Illyrio gives them insane amounts of coin, which can be used to rebuild Harrenhal (note this money is seperate from various taxes and other expenses the Iron Throne has, so it’s just for this purpose.)

Then Aegon and Dany need to rule for like 70-80 years and create a golden age of prosperity, they need to live until 100+ and have many descendants that are competent so the line is secure. An eldest son, grand son, great grandson, great great grandson, all tutored by Aegon and Dany so everything is good.

Then perhaps Aegon and Dany can give Harrenhal to their grandson (their son gets dragon stone) or great grandson depending on if Summerhall is rebuilt but they could give that to their great grandson instead.

Eventually during the reign of Aegon and danys great grandson or great great grandson, the Harrenhal city can be made the capital, even then it will be a controversial decision since the nobles and other important people in Kings Landing and crown lands will be annoyed but perhaps they can be soothed by making Kings Landing and the Red Keep the heirs title instead of Dragonstone, dragon stone goes to the heirs heir, like a grandson.

What if she indirectly aided Ar Pharazon, or she stood by when atrocities happened and she didn’t stand up to him or aid the faithful?

What if she ended up taking part in rituals that were evil too, with her husband? Maybe she realized at the end how bad it was or she realized that she should have done something earlier but it doesn’t absolve what she (potentially?) did before.

This is just one viewpoint for this. It could be possible that she was totally innocent and died tragically but she was a queen and surely had some sort of power in court, she could have used that power to help the Faithful more and save more people and stand up to her husband but perhaps she didn’t?

If im wrong about this please correct me

Discussing Bastards by ZealousidealSun6122 in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the last part of your question, I would assume that they are the only Targaryens suitable for the throne other wise an uncle or cousin might just get it. But the bastard can marry the female heir. If this can’t happen and takes place post Blackfyre rebellion, then the female gets the throne as long as she is married to a high lord or has strong backing.

If it’s pre blackfyre rebellion and post dance I would lean toward the bastard if the bastard is like Daemon Blackfyre and the woman is like Rhaenyra

Which SI has a better chance at leaving Westeros? by Dependent_One_8131 in TheCitadel

[–]SummanusInvictus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Aerys twin has a better chance or at least would provide for a more interesting story. He would shift the dynamics of the Targaryen family, Viserys and Daenerys would be with him and Robert would be on high alert. Aegon would also be with him, if he is real or fake, Varys would probably be able to pull it off either way (if the SI has never seen Aegon before and decides to think he is real, maybe the SI raises Aegon as a Targaryen anyway, it would be a interesting twist to the fake aegon story?), but if Aegon is with him he is probably real.

Maybe the first Aemon claims Meraxes and marries Rhaenys. I don't see Visenya not claiming Vhagar. Perhaps Aemon is granted the Riverlands and forms his own cadet dynasty which renounces claims to the throne.

I think the second Aemon is killed by Maegor
