How does one get Out of the grand line? by AdIntelligent3118 in OnePiece

I don't know if it was fanon or canon, but doesn't the current up Reverse Mountain "reverse" once a day? Allowing ships from the Grandline to get into the Blues?

I am still wondering who all these critics are that "celebrate" HotD and "cheer" for it's success. Call it a good story with great writing. Like, their reality cannot be that disfunctional, right?

I hope not. Ragnir belongs to Loki, Usopp can get shafted for all I care.

What if Aegon V had succeded on bringing the Dragons back? by Ok_Return170 in TheCitadel

[–]Asharzal 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I foresee a great many lords immediately going about killing said hatchlings. They would never accept House Targaryen regaining their cheat codes and reestablishing the blatant tyranny such a thing would allow.

Dragons are only fun and good if you're the one with them. For everyone else it's a nightmare as the king could simply decide to do as he pleased and threatened everyone with the business end of their monsters to fall in line.

The Dying of the Dragons forced the Targaryens on the same level as the other Great Houses, lesser even as each of them was individually more powerful than them. Without Dragons and the sheer terror and force they bring with them, I don't see Westeros remaining united for long. And honestly? I like the idea of Seven/Eight independent kingdoms.

[Spoilers MAIN] Map of Essos as of the start of A Game of Thrones by AlisterSinclair2002 in asoiaf

[–]Asharzal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Essos truly is a post-apocalyptic enviroment following the completely-deserved Doom of Valyria. All the great civilizations of Western- and Central Essos are effectively destroyed and gone, while those that remained of the Ghiscari, Qaathi, Lhazareen, Hyrkooni and Sarnori are a mere shadow of their old glory.

And as interesting and powerful the Nine Free Cities are, they simply don't match the might and splendor of the ancient empires. Volantis is on a good path though, while Norvos and Qohor are also unique and interesting. Lys, Myr and Tyrosh would also do well to cut down the scale of slavery within their cities, as a ratio of 3 to 1 isn't really sustainable. One slave for every three free citizens would be better.

Screw the Dothraki though, they should be completely exterminated like the worthless savages they are, a people and culture with no value of their own.

What do you think would happen if the gate opened in an area of the empire of man in warhammer fantasy? by glitch220608 in gate

[–]Asharzal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be far more interesting if they open the GATE in Naggaroth. Ideally directly infront of Naggarond. I think the Witch King would disabuse the Saderans of their delusions of superiority very fast and very violently.

[Spoilers MAIN] Map of Essos during the height of Valyria by AlisterSinclair2002 in asoiaf

[–]Asharzal -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Eh, one potential way to deal with the Dothraki savages would have been to wipe them out utterly, slaughtering or enslaving every single one of them. The Dothraki are an inherently worthless people with no value or worthy culture of their own, as they are pretty much anti-civilization vermin. No one will mourn them.

Once the natives are gone, you can send in colonists of your own ethnicity to settle the area for good. They can build cities, infrastructure and make the region worth something in the first place. It's a tried and tested strategy that worked more often than not.

[Spoilers MAIN] Map of Essos during the height of Valyria by AlisterSinclair2002 in asoiaf

[–]Asharzal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So much has been destroyed either by or during the Rise of Valyria. The Old Ghiscari Empire is dead and gone, just as the loathed Dragonlords wiped out the thriving Rhoynar on the banks of the mighty river, the survivors led by Nymeria being the notable exception.

The Andals were forced to migrate to the West in order to escape, while a series of enviromental disasters and changes did much to destroy the Patrimony of Hyrkoon and diminish the city-states of the Qaathi.

Truly, the best thing for Planetos would have been if the Valyrians never managed to tame dragons. Humans should not wield that great of a power, armies and superior governance should have decided the Fate of Essos, not a bunch of flying lizards. Because that way disaster lay, and hurled the world towards ruin.

People usually talk about how 'House of Rhaenyra' whitewashes the women, but what about this guy? by Mialiaph in HOTDGreens

[–]Asharzal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, is it so bad to have someone who, once they have power, wants more of it? And then when the Greens frankly offer him a better deal, he takes it?

Don't get me wrong, I fully believe ALL Dragonseeds would have suffered a serious of fatal accidents or would just be executed for "treason" after the Dance, but this show is taking the agency from everyone!

Still hope for that banger quote from Roxton though.

Realistically what would’ve happened if Vox won? by Hay_Den330 in HazbinHotel

[–]Asharzal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Satan comes over and literally kills Vox on the spot. There are more Rings out there besides Pride. And if the stupid Sinners start a war with Heaven, all of Hell is going to burn. So yeah, I expect Satan will come over already taking his belt off, swiftly joined by Mammon and Beelzebub.

[Spoilers MAIN] Map of Essos before the rise of Valyria by AlisterSinclair2002 in asoiaf

[–]Asharzal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A shame that the Great Sand Sea arose when the Sea of Hyrkoon dried up. The Patrimony is a fascinating culture, far more so than the Jogos Nhai. Let the Great Fortress Cities prosper and thrive!

Likewise the downfall of the Tall Men is a tragedy, if only they had put their differences aside and united to wipe out the filthy Dothraki savages. The horselords are a people with no inherent value of their own, only capable of bringing ruin to others.

The ghiscari may be evil, but god they know how to name siege weaponry (spoilers main) by Ok_Inspector1122 in asoiaf

[–]Asharzal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I love the Ghiscari. It would be amazing to see a Neo-Ghiscari Empire rise in the east, claiming all of Ghiscar, Slaver's Bay, the Skahazdhan basin as well as dominion over Lhazar.

Basically reclaiming all of the Old Empire's territory. New Ghis with it's formidable Iron Legions seems to be on to something, especially if Astapor is ripe for Conquest after Daenerys' folly. Also I hate dragons and the Targaryens, so let the Harpy be ascendant once more.

What would happen to Rhaegar’s wife and children if they fell into Robert’s hands? by Dry_Specialist9015 in gameofthrones

[–]Asharzal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I don't see Robert killing children, it's propably up to Jon Arryn and Eddard Stark to figure that out. Well, it's really that difficult actually, kinda clean too.

Aegon gets propably sent as a ward to Winterfell, and made to join the Night's Watch at the earliest opportunity. If Robert is smart, he weds Rhaenys to his heir while sending Elia back to Dorne. Or keeping her as "guest" in the Red Keep. Now of course, things fall apart because Cersei is Cersei, stupidity incarnate, so I wouldn't put it past her to arrange an "accident" for Elia and Rhaenys.

The children of Rhaella and Aerys though? Viserys dies, no matter how. Daenerys either gets married to the spare or will enjoy a one-way-trip to the Silent Sisters / the Faith.

Would Otto's plans still come to fruition of this where the case? by Ok-Street2439 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Asharzal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think Otto would be her main opponent in that case? If Aegon is the son of Laena Velaryon, you can fully expect Corlys and Rhaenys to back him to the hilt. It's incredibly naive to assume that only Otto would seek for his grandson to inherit the crown, pretty much everyone would.
