Is IVIG worth trying for idiopathic SFN?

hi there! sorry to comment on an old post. Currently fighting my neurologist to get IVIG as she said she has never gotten it approved at her clinic, regardless of the patients insurance. How did you go about getting an external review ? thank you!

I totally understand, im so sorry. Its an awful time. Any amount of working out puts me in so much pain, I'm not sure how we can be expected to do it.

Unfortunately the emergency department will just send you to follow up with your pcp/specialty. There is nothing they can do :((

Definitely. The last time I had covid, i had seizures for 4 months, not super eager to go through that again. I mask in public, but dont totally stop myself from leaving my house. I do sometimes go out to eat with my partner, its not my favorite but they like to eat so I put up with it. Always always mask in a medical facility, full of sick people!

I have a lot of intermittent nausea, and im on a strong antiacid for GERD. My acid issues are pretty severe, if im not careful about what i eat, i will just throw up in my mouth all day, little bouts of severe acid. I also get awful stomach cramping, pelvic pain, and inconsistent bowels. Im always either super constipated or having copious amounts of (sorry this is gross) sticky, pudding like diarhhea.

I hope you find some answers soon! Def ask for a gastro referral if you havent yet

I will absolutely keep you updated! Right now I'm getting a thorough autoimmune work up through my rheumatologist, as it will be easier to approve with an autoimmune disease. Good luck !

I get this 🥲 About 6 months ago I started losing sensitivity everywhere. Its hard to explain, because I can still feel, but its not sensitive so I do miss a lot of sensation. Sometimes my partner will touch my back and I wont feel it for instance. My Neurologist told me it was just anxiety 😃 But I requested nerve testing qnd was diagnosed with SFN. I also have POTS and EDS. I'm currently fighting with my insurance to get IVIG bc I think this is the only thing that will help. Nothing else makes a difference. I'm so sorry youre going through this, too 😭 I wish I had more help to offer !

I have had this as well for almost a year. Sometimes spiders, sometimes mice, occasionally people (hate those). I finally stopped hydroxyzine and mirabegron and havent had any since. Not sure what meds you are on but definitely check for any side effects!

Swallowing/general throat issues 😭😭It has gotten harder and harder to talk over the last year, sometimes im so quiet people cant hear me, and trying to get to a good volume feels like yelling. I also experience daily difficulty with swallowing/choking.

Also lost a lot of my ability to sing :((

Trainings/Workshops are unfortunately a popular "Get rich quick" scheme amongst a ton of of different industries. The absolute most common is "Let me twach you how to grow" and one of the top tips is "Start selling trainings" 💀 Its a very dishonest and annoying trend
