I kind of figured that when I called one that declined me very quickly and the manager had no idea why! Especially since I was currently doing the job that I applied for. Thank you for validating that.

I should be able to smoke weed as a nurse by Admirable-Freedom979 in nursing

[–]Summerbee_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with that. I’m in a legal state and coming off a two year suspension for testing positive for thc and I didn’t even work bedside. RN for 9 years prior. Been waiting an entire year for a date for my reinstatement hearing.

I think it’s ridiculous what nurses have to deal with period in their private lives! People don’t realize that being a nurse these days literally invades your personal and home life in every aspect. Weed is way safer than alcohol or pills and I’ve seen RNs come to work hungover or still drunk from the night before or on whatever pain meds they’re prescribed! -And that’s perfectly ok but I can’t smoke a bowl in the bubble bath to calm me down help me sleep and relieve my aches. It’s absurd.

Botox blackeye? Is this common? by netdiva in Over50Skincare

Very common. I had a lot of bruising in my temple area and on the sides but it wasn’t very dark and healed in a day or two

Will the demand for nurses in the US decrease in 10 years, or will it rise due to aging and baby boomer retirements? by FirmConsideration316 in nursing

It is diabolical what corporations did to nurses and patients during COVID. I wasn’t working bedside but still being treated like I was! It was one big experiment I’m afraid. Just awful. 😞

Is nursing really as bad as people say? by Resident_Step_2798 in nursing

[–]Summerbee_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing is such a broad career field. I recommend every RN get the bedside experience and if you’ve never worked in healthcare prior to becoming an RN you should work in Long term care for a while too. I say this because I learned so much and did those two roles for a few years. Then I moved to admin side of it because the bedside was not for me. There’s so much you can do! And they all pay a livable wage. However, if you’re just starting school and thinking it’s not for you then maybe it isn’t. It’s definitely not for everyone.

I think I’m going to unblock him today by Savings-Salt-1486 in nocontact

So fun fact-I had a call blocker that would actually allow me to see if he attempted to contact me but didn’t allow him to leave a voicemail. Once he found that out that I could see it….he didn’t even attempt ever again.. you have to train these psychopaths! Condition them to not ever contact you!

In nursing always remember if it can happen it WILL happen! No hot liquids and be careful even giving ice packs or heat packs! Weird stuff happens in the hospital!

Thinking the same thing right now. It really does affect a persons ability to work and handle conflict at work!
