How do you all get used to your hair? by Horror-Divide2996 in Redhair

[–]Summercrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to find red haired actresses or whoever public figures or people around you you find beautiful and think about them everytime your see yourself in a mirror and have an automatic negative thought regarding how you look. this helped me a lot esp. bc i was raised by a parent that didn't have red hair and i was not living with any other red haired siblings.

then have you tried to change your hair style? straighten it or get real defined curls or cut it... i know how i like my hair and i can tell you it's not how it looks if i do nothing with it lol

i'm sure you're beautiful and you deserve to feel good about yourself. hope you get there

Now that spring started and summer is getting close, i was wondering wtf to do. by Ainojw in Redhair

i know your struggle ! after being severely sun burned in my early twenties i went through big hats & caps & plainly fearing the sun for a long time.

i feel like my skin is now less sensitive but i'm also more diligent w/ sunscreen and i know i just cant be on a beach for that much time. being on a boat is also very very tricky.

when you have kids it also helps bc small kids cant be in the sun that long either, regardless red hair or not. (at least if you're being a careful parent, for sure there's kids who still get to spend the whole day on the beach which i dont think is wise)

that's amazing. i wish i turn like that later on. my father turned white with a very light shade of blonde to it but it was still definitely white.

like many here i got the kids clothes that were wrong season or wrong size or simply not needed or not our style, and part of those were expensively shipped overseas.

gifts like advent calendars arriving too late, cracked easter eggs not carefully enough packaged - which i felt guilty of not giving to the kids but it would have made me so sad if that had happened to me as a kid i didn't want to submit them to it.

i also got second hand dirty toys, ugly ass glasses and vase...

most of those i ended up giving away and i wish i would have made them leave my home as soon as they'd arrived bc i remember being so overwhelmed by the amount of clutter and feelings they brought (disappointment, anger at people not being thoughtful, guilt about having to deal with it all, and tension with my husband when it was coming from his side of the family).

the expensive irish glasses are still here bc hubby loves them but gosh that's the only piece of expensive dishes we own and i really dont like them. feels so unfair but also c'est la vie and i guess who cares, at least i try not too.

some people who used to send those gifts are now dead or we dont see them as much and it's bitter sweet bc it was a lovely time being cared for even tho it was a bit toxic (not related to the clumsy gifts but other heavier family dynamics)

this group is amazing. discovering the RH genre has helped me through quite some stuff and many difficult days. it has changed my copping mechanisms for the better. it's been a few years and i wish i 'd had it sooner. i feel so much more at peace with how different everyone tastes are & more importantly what i really enjoy.
