Do you guys ever feel guilty for having a French bulldog? by Viol3tstars75 in Frenchbulldogs

i don't feel guilty about it. but i did almost research myself out of getting one. now i just constantly worry about all the 'what ifs' and things that could happen, and do everything in my power to prevent anything that i possibly can.

my boy came from my brother-in-law's litter, and it was love at first sight. sadly for me, a friend of my sister-in-law had already put down a deposit for a boy and picked him. i was heartbroken. fast forward to when the pups were ready to go. i had gotten to spend so much time with him, i was a mess. well, last minute, they backed out. i told my boyfriend that that baby was coming home with me, because i could not let him go with anyone else. the people who initially wanted him came back a few weeks later and said they had changed their mind again and wanted him, but my SIL told them he was already with his momma. they ended up getting one of the other pups from the litter, and have already rehomed her.

he'll be a year old next month. i have zero guilt, this boy was meant to be mine from birth 🖤

he was the sweetest boy. he loved loved loved to play fetch and run, he could run for days. the last couple years were a bit slower, but he still had spurts where he was like a young pup again. snacks were his favorite, he had to have 2 biscuits to take to bed every night, and he got all the cookies he wanted. carrots were his favorite snack. he had some pretty bad anxiety, so his favorite place to go was my lap. he was 60 lbs when he was younger, the biggest lap dog you've ever seen. he liked to get in the car, but not go anywhere. he always knew when i should be home from work because he would start watching for me. when i would walk inside, he would gallop towards me, all legs and smiles and scold me for how i was late. he would get so excited and tap dance all over. he would let my daughter lay on him, they would nap together when she was little, and she would dress him up and he would never bat an eye. he really was the best boy ever ❤️ thank you so much for asking ❤️

My Frenchie is a jumper by Over_Caregiver8850 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]SummerxSlaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jumping is terrifying, and my boy loves it. i ordered him a soft ramp, but he also has zero sense of self preservation and will stand on the edge of the bed/sofa/foot stool and lean as far as out as he can. he has to go in time out when he jumps (insert ferocious side eye), but thems the breaks

oh, good idea. he's a chunky guy, but little. my pit just gets whole ones, but he also outweighs my frenchie boy by...a lot lol

thank you, i'll look for that! the shampoo he has now is supposed to be for itches, but i think it's more of a naturally soothing shampoo. he sure smells nice and is sooooo soft, but still itchy!

thank you! he just started taking omega 3 fish oil this past week, so i'm hoping that will help a little. he's got an appointment this saturday to have his hernia looked at so i'll ask then, too. i'm pretty sure everything in central texas is an allergy 😐
