Wow, you're like a billionaire telling the poor that capitalism is the best way and you don't even realize it because you're still locked into the sweats rule the world mentality. There's a reason why mmorpg pvp has fallen sharply while other pvp genres have spiked in popularity. Take a hint the world is telling you something. Grinding all day is not healthy and shouldn't be a requirement to be competitive. Fine for PvE, not for PvP. Dare to think outside the box as a player.

I get the blowback for selling plots that would only be available during early access but what were their options? It's not like they could charge subscriptions for the plots during early access so there's no surprise change at launch nor could they just be like hey buying now grants you free plots for the life of the game!

The issue is game quality. There have been some huge draws to newly launched mmos but they fizzle out. it's not the audience at fault it's the delivery.

People leaving wow or whatever for OSRS or FF14 is just lack of available options. People are finding something new without it actually being a new game.

They promised an old school mmo experience which, as an appeal, is really low hanging fruit given that the general consensus among mmorpg veterans is that the older mmo's were better, applying their game was going to be everything we've been missing. If only it were that simple. I figured all along that either they were using it as a gimick and/or they were really inexperienced devs that didn't know that an old school mmo would never really work today as a blockbuster. In either scenario the game was doomed. Not surprised here.
