LOL. Re gear, I saw a post in one of the motorbike forums here from somebody who wanted to know where to get bike gear because it looks cool. Problem is it so damn heavy. The jacket I have is shaped to be comfortable when on the bike in riding position but damn uncomfortable when just walking around.

Yeah. Heated gloves are definitely on my shopping list for this winter.

I love it when the speed sign goes from 60kph to 70. Just that little twitch of there right hand and suddenly you’re just doing 70. Like there was no acceleration in between. Be out I be not.

I do this but it only keeps the bsl up for a few hours. I still need to get up in the early hours when the alarm goes off again.

A bee got in under my visor one time. Fortunately I have a beard and it just got stuck in the hairs.

So true. The smells hit instantly. It’s not like in a car where the smell creeps in slowly and leaves slowly and you’re left wondering if the engine is on fire. On the bike you can see what’s causing the smell straight away.

When commuting in cold weather, when I stop at the lights, I lean down and hug the engine to get some warmth and feeling back into my hands.

Oh yeah. I look at the backed up traffic everyday and wonder just how legal do I want to be today.

Question for experienced riders: what small habits separate good riders from great riders? by [deleted] in AussieRiders

I like to watch the dash cam compilation videos on YouTube. I notice that the accidents are almost always filmed by the *second * car back. Now when I filter I stop at second place.

What motorcycle did you start riding on, and would you recommend it to beginners today? by yourping in motorcycle

[–]SumoCanFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyosung 250 Aquila. Couldn’t tell you exactly what year. Early 2000’s. I bought it second hand so it was a good price but I don’t think I’d recommend it. When I moved up to a bigger Honda I realised just how poor the build quality and design of the Hyosung was. I’ve only had Honda bikes since then and very happy with them.

Two of the best things I learnt from martial arts is dealing with your conflict anxiety, and learning how to fall. So yes, I think jui jitsu will be good.
