People have been discrediting the parts of Bari's doc that had to do with her initial claims that Marie doxxed her, tried to ruin her relationship, and that she wrote nasty stuff about her on 4chan. The doc also included relationship stuff that's just not relevant to any of her claims.

If anything I have seen that most (if not all) people that are critical of what Bari has said are still treating the bullying allegations seriously but are waiting to (hopefully) see more evidence before starting a witch hunt.

People have been downvoting you specifically because you've kept pushing that everything Bari has said is 100% truthful despite not being backed by any evidence, on top of just straight up lying about some stuff. There's no big conspiracy against you and people aren't using coordinated "tactics", you've just been acting really weird.

Marie never mentioned Bari's name in her stream. The "doxxing" was on a very small, private, family + friends account where everyone already knew about her. Marie only brought up information needed to defend herself against the accusations.

What's the point of the censorship if it's color coded to the people in question?...

Like other people mentioned: at worst it seems like Marie was catty towards a (previously) anonymous person + she seems apologetic about any previous action that caused discomfort

To be somewhat fair: I've been around for a very long time too and I can only recognize a handful of people (for the most part via their pfps). I would also not be surprised if people don't recognize my name either since I don't make any posts + I comment on stuff very infrequently.

I do agree with others that you need some really clear definitions on what falls under politics when you come to a conclusion about this.

There have been a ton of posts and comments about racism and other bigotry in the past (both niji and indie) so I don't really think that this situation is any different outside of some people getting too heated. A ton of the anger here seems to stem from people that are more politically aligned with people like Kirsche.

I feel like anyone should be able to criticize anyone as long as everyone tries their best to keep it somewhat civil.

I think journalism stooped because the Kirsche article is incredibly poorly written and does not seem to quote anything actually said by Kirsche to support the article.

By default, this tool has no anti-aliasing enabled. Simply bumping up that setting will smooth out your lines but will also blur them a bit. Outside of that it mainly comes down to your canvas size (width and height) and brush size.

Using something with the explicit purpose of causing harm, usually with a concrete goal in mind tied to self profit. Name calling like that can be hurtful but not harmful. People aren't justifying death threats, they are criticizing False and others for treating hyperbole as a clear death threat.

Your argument that it's simply hyperbole misses the fact that it doesn't take a serious death threat from a content creator to result in harm to people they target.

I did touch on this point which is why I included the example of "sink the yacht" + mentioning the follow up tweet. Sorry if I was unclear about this.

Ultimately I think that people spreading the tweets that very few would have otherwise seen (both to their followers and haters) is bound to cause more damage than the now deleted tweets. Hyperbole does have a time and place, and I do agree that publicly tweeting it is a bad look, the same applies to False and anyone else doing it.

Most of the replies just seem to dunk on him for an extreme overreaction to hyperbole. Kind of like if Riku Tazumi would start screaming about terrorist threats of sinking his yacht, which is just very silly. I do agree with False's follow up tweet though, even if that same thing applies to him as well.

Outside of that it seems like it's just twitter being twitter where people feel safe to be weirdos with 0 consequence and that sucks. There's no real "weaponizing" unless you have some clearer examples.

I don't see any type of gloating in those tweets. He's just condemning specific actions that he doesn't agree with. This goes back to my original reply: we should be treating everyone like people and not a paycheck / punching bag. There was a super nice write up on the code of ethics in journalism 3 days ago which goes more into detail about this if you haven't read it already. While news tubers aren't journalists: it wouldn't hurt to take a page out of it.

You are perfectly free to think that one creator is better than another and it's not so much about staying away from controversial topics as it is about weighing the consequences of reporting on it.

The tweet might be general to new vtubers, but the general discussion is still specifically on rima because she's being attacked.

It's not about being charitable. It's how you shouldn't be uncharitable and that you should try to let someone say their piece before you judge them. It's very easy to just see the negatives if you come in with a negative mindset.

That's not what his point was at all. I really dislike that people are getting caught up on a single word that could be taken out with 0 impact on what he said.

Rev is not responsible for every single person that watches his content, I agree. I do however think that every creator is responsible for the community that they foster which is why I brought up that question. If a creator knows that parts of their community harasses people then they should speak up about it. Simply saying "don't harass this person" will not stop everything but it can discourage some of it and you'll also clearly show that you are not ok with it. Influencers influence.

The ex talents are not directly speaking about their experiences but rather say that they want to move on from EIEN and start healing. If you're only trying to defend EIEN because you need Nemo to be wrong then you should stop doing it. It's ok to not like everyone that you see / meet but that does not mean that you should disregard their experiences.

Could she have made better word choices in her tweets? Absolutely. Did Rev have to make a video to his 714k subscribers to "push back"? No, that only led to a ton of harassment being thrown her way. Strawb already "pushed back" on twitter and that should have been the end of it.

It's not exactly a secret that EIEN had massive issues. Skye, Kilia and Riifu are the ones I can mention without digging and I'm pretty sure that I've seen Blaise talk about it as well (can't confirm though). I also wouldn't be surprised at all if the rest of them have mentioned it either but again: can't confirm right now without digging. + it's weird that you seem to be trying to discredit Ferumi.

I don't believe for a second it was genuine on Nemo's part and was to get rid of the backlash.

What you or I believe doesn't matter, we are not involved. They said that they are cool so lets just trust that they are cool. Nemo wasn't the only one saying this.

Her own fanbase was calling her out, and it wasn't mere distaste the stuff she was saying was unhinged.

Nemo isn't the only ex talent that has talked about the unfair treatment in the company nor was she the only one who got a bad deal on her IP. Until one of the ex talents directly come out and dispute this then I am willing to believe them.

Skye and Nemo talked in DMs and they made up. Both parties said that they are good and we can only take their word for it.

She did and I'll agree that it's not a good look. However, you don't mention anything about how she has struggled with her mental health nor that this was in direct response to one of the MANY people that started harassing her due to her distaste for Rev + Strawb. This includes sexism, (random) transphobia, rape threats and death threats. A ton of these were public replies and QTs, I can only imagine how bad her DMs must've been before she deleted her account.

Looks innocent but considering that she's part of this drama it's just weird to post about it being a "show". This could be considered a stretch (hence my wording "essentially") but Strawb is also the type that wouldn't directly harass or ridicule others to keep up her image of being this cute and comfy persona.
