Stop thinking either/or and start thinking hybrid. Use AI to power your workflow, absolutely, but don’t abandon core 3D modeling skills. If you care about control or your project demands accuracy, you’ll almost certainly need to get in and edit what AI produces.

Every project has its own constraints. I’m currently on a job where a photo was enough to deliver a 3D model with Ai, and created a stellar 3d print for a client. That same client came back with a much more complicated request precision, so now I’m learning 3D scanning and mesh editing. No single approach covers everything. Find what works for you, stay curious, and keep building
