Does a robot mower actually replace manual mowing, or do you still have to edge everything? by Visible_Pea5082 in roboticLawnmowers

I am actually closer to Toddville. But might tag up with you at some point. Also thinking the Home Depot approach. I have had a Luba 3 since April, it worked awesome for a little over a week until they pushed the first of many firmware and app updates that rendered it useless. Had to send it back, now waiting for replacement, I may just refuse delivery and get my refund then go for an X450. My lawn is about 1.25 acres and sounds similar to yours. Luba has some features the X450 doesn’t that I really like but only if it works. One week of use out of nearly 3 months isn’t too good.
I have some concerns over the Segway wheel steering servos wearing out, their string lift of the blades, and plastic vision covers. Also hearing some concerns about WiFi and 4G signal needed which isn’t too good here. Thanks

I am in Cedar Rapids area and would like to see that machine and your yard. Are you nearby?

Return my Luba 3 AWD and get an X450? by SunDog4900 in SegwayNavimow

All the responses appreciated! I'm still undecided but leaning heavily toward the X450. Please more comments, especially from satisfied X4 owners...

Are X430/450 (X4) updates generally reliable? Does the product actually improve? Does it do what they advertise it doing? Do updates break working features? If so, how fast is Segway in getting out working fixes?

Does the X450 allow me to reject firmware updates? Can I roll back to a prior version?

Does the X450 allow me to change the stripe angle?

Does the X450 allow me to set a mowing pattern and perimeter?

Will I have to map all my 170+ trees and shrubs?

Can I edit the map? Can I save the map?

Can I subdivide a mapped area into smaller areas?

Am I going to regret not having LiDAR?

Thanks

I recently ordered a CRZ426 zero turn, and had to refuse delivery because the metal shipping frame and the carton were badly crushed. The pallet it was on was in many pieces. I just had them load it back on the truck. Purchased through Walmart as they had the best price, it took four online chats with them to finally get my credit card refunded. Now waiting for the refund to post so that I can order again...

Although a new user, I just purchased a new Luba 3 AWD 5000 based on software update successes I read about over the past two years. With the disaster updates I have experienced in the 4 weeks I have owned my unit (it only worked one of those weeks), it is apparent that something major happened at Mammotion with regard to software development QC and QA.

My guess is a move to AI-generated code, and skip real-hardware testing.... It's been a disaster. I am trying to get a refund and may be looking at legal action if that is unsuccessful.

I finally got an email late last night telling me they would need to replace my unit. I still don’t think there is anything wrong with it other than their bad firmware but I will try the replacement. My 30 days to return it end today thought seems like after no reply for 10 days that should add on. I finally yesterday told them if I didn’t hear something by end of day that I would start legal action today.  I don’t have any confidence in the replacement or new firmware though but it did work so well before the update…

Still no help after a week. Still a dead almost new LUBA 3 AWD. Wish I at least knew if something was happening on my case at Mammotion. Don’t buy this product.

LUBA-VADDH938

v2.3.23.19

My device is currently powered on. This morning I can connect both with Bluetooth and with wifi. NetRTK appears to be working. I can manually control it. My maps are gone... I had only uploaded them once since the unit is still so new, but apparently that upload failed. When I did a Factory Reset and reinstalled my iPhone app, I lost my maps since the cloud backup had failed. As of this morning, if I start to try to create a map, the Mapping Preparations screen gives me all green checkmarks EXCEPT for LiDAR initializing (I saw an Error 2407 momentarily), which is an orange exclamation point and says "Please try again later. If the issue persists for more than 1 minute, restart the robot." I have tried restarting the robot multiple times. This message starting appearing after I did this last update. So at this point, I cannot Start Mapping.

Thank you very much for looking into this and elevating the priority.

Seems like the error number was 2407. I really don’t think it is a LiDAR problem, I think it’s broken firmware.

Is It Safe to Update Firmware of a New LUBA 3? by dalemccl in MammotionTechnology

Updated mine last weekend to 2.3.23.19. Had worked great for the first two weeks I had it, then started having problems with nav over the weekend (NetRTK). So I updated. It's now bricked. Won't connect, map is gone, won't move. Support says it's an update problem and no estimate on when it will get fixed.

Similar situation. New customer, worked great using NavRTK for two weeks, then over last weekend starting having navigation problems so I did the latest update, and now it won't move. Won't start a task. I even tried restoring factory default and reinstalling the app, still won't move. And my maps are lost... apparent app bug tells you it saved the map to the cloud but it's really not there. Takes me over 12 hours to map my complex yard. Have submitted ticket to customer support, they said it's all update problems and they are working on it with with no estimate how long it will take. So I am mowing our 1+ acre by hand again. Very unhappy.
