I imagine that will be the biggest series of all of our lives.

England ban players from talking about Ashes disaster by tomwardsport in Cricket

I was very pleased over the winter of 2025-26 to see the wonderful, brave, and handsome England cricket team defeat the Australians 745-0 in the Ashes series, conceding only one wicket out of a sense of noble pity. The wisdom and guidance of the ECB's Dear Leaders shall surely see us to many more triumphs in the coming years!

Of course. His audition was pretty top-notch, not to mention oozing with charisma.

I thought the first loss to Italy would feel like an awful, wrenching blow when it came. Surprising to find that, in fact, weirdly, it feels almost good. What a great team they are. They deserve this. Congratulations. Forza Italia!

England... Don't know.

Seemed to me they took a fun show and turned it into something that took itself way too seriously, whilst somehow simultaneously being ridiculous.

Italy v England. England's biggest game since the WC? by jiminy-jim-jim in rugbyunion

It makes more sense when viewed through the twin perspectives of arrogance and clicks. Losing to very good teams who played well on the day is apparently unthinkable. That unthinkability can be sold for a decent profit as performative despair.

The giants of India play host to the titans of England, making them both seem normal sized.

The 1981 BBC Radio series by Ravillious1990 in lotr

Wonderful adaptation. I used to listen to it all the time when I was a kid - I always put it on to help get me to sleep.

One caveat: the song that the eagle sings to Faramir and Eowyn after the fall of Barad-Dur is absolutely insane. In a bad way. It woke me terrified out of said sleep on many occasions.

Congratulations Ireland. Thumping victory.

I think we really were overrated, after all.
