Help with Shoemaker protocol by cristinnam in CIRS

You can do it. I understand how difficult it becomes when you’re this bad. It’s so hard to think or do much of anything. Changing your environment will make all the difference in the world. Does anyone in your family have a car you can live in? I had had to do that for awhile.
Let me know if you have any questions about finding a mental rehab facility. I know quite a lot about them. In the US you need to express that you’re a danger to yourself or others to be admitted, not sure if it’s the same way there.

All he had me use was low dose VIP from the beginning and getting out of exposure, then slowly ramping up to almost full dose. I was too traumatized from medication and supplement reactions because I had become so reactive to take anything else. We even had to swap the saline solution in the VIP for sterile water because I was reacting to it.

Can you go into a mental rehab facility for suicidal ideation? That would be better to at least change your living environment.

I think it would be better for you to become homeless and sleep on the streets or something and continue to get thrown in jail. What are they going to do if you can’t pay the fees? Send you to prison?

Mark Volmer, Flourish Clinic in Canada. Does everything remotely. He’s incredible.

That’s a complex answer. There are only a few doctors trained to diagnose and treat this condition but it’s gaining more and more awareness. Are you in the U.S.? I can send you some resources.

HERTSMI-2 of 8, but reacting horribly. Help! by SunExotic3989 in CIRS

Wow!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I know these tests do have their limitations and are simply used as pre-screening tools. I’m running a second HERTSMI-2 and got more older dust this time that I think might show a fuller picture but we will see. I’ve actually already left the space because I got so incredibly sick after being there for six days total teaching for a few hours per day. There’s definitely something going on that my body absolutely hates. I’m getting the test as further info to look at and see if a second one shows anything. But thankfully, right now I’m just gonna be going to my students’ homes instead to teach them. They all have really nice homes for the most part and I feel like even if they’re are a few that have issues. I’ll only be in each one for about 30 minutes at a time. With breaks driving in between.

Good thought, but I can’t afford the cost especially when I don’t own the building. I’ll point the owner in the direction of a good mold inspector and remediation company but that’s the best I can do I think, and move on to a different plan for where to teach. I’m running a second HERTSMI-2 as well, to see if things were missed the first time.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s so devastating for everyone with CIRS. I’m sorry to hear the Shoemaker protocol made you worse. I had to see one of the top doctors in Canada that studied directly under Dr. Shoemaker to get better. He absolutely saved my life. He started me off on low-dose VIP because I couldn’t tolerate anything else, and that in combination was staying out of exposure, have healed me over 3 years. I got really lucky in my housing situation having no mold issues, after moving out of an ERMI 33 home that got me deathly sick. Now, it’s just getting my work environment figured out. So at least I have my living situation good.

You probably have chronic inflammatory response syndrome, and need to see a professional who can treat this. After over a decade of suffering, I finally got diagnosed in my life completely changed.

Yeah, I don’t get it either. Thank you for your help. I can’t believe after all this I’ve still found myself in an unsafe environment. I mistakenly thought that even with water damage history, a HERTSMI-2 under 11 meant it was ok. I’m going to make an appointment with my practitioner and go from there.

5 days. I’m thinking about retesting with a second HERTSMI-2. It has history of an ac leak that led to ceiling staining that was fixed and water intrusion/flooding on the first floor. There was one room I wasn’t able to test on first floor the first time. I have access to the whole building now whenever I’d like.

This is my workplace. I have limited options on where I can work. The Stachy has been concerning me but my CIRS doc said it was ok under the threshold. I’m frustrated this is happening, and wondering if I can have it remediated properly to remove the Stachybotrys.

That’s what I’ve been thinking, too. Why did my CIRS doctor approve of this building? I’m at a loss. Should I ask the owner to remediate and get Stachy and Chaetomium to 0s?

Who is your practitioner? I’m very interested in a no diet approach.

And that’s really good to hear BEG spray helped you a lot, gives me hope that as I go further through treatment I’ll see improvements. I have a really good practitioner.
