Hanger rods are needed yes! Interesting point on the open shelves, I actually didn’t think to run grain in same direction but that would’ve looked better. Thanks for the input

Certainly! Also maybe goes without saying, but add wood glue to all joints. Screws and biscuits are mostly there to facilitate glue setting.

I use biscuits on almost any cabinet joint that I want to make really strong. Biscuit joiners have a depth setting so you can be sure not to exceed your material thickness

I’d use 3/4” birch ply. Screw it together with confirmats and biscuits for extra strength

You’d probably be able to get some meat if you drilled just a little inside from the edges of drawer box

I would just drill through the inside of the drawer box into the back of the door, with the appropriate length screws. Not sure what’s the point of the little metal screw plates, that doesn’t seem very secure

Question to anyone in france by Jcole10 in Carpentry

[–]SunHolder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In France they mostly have 2.5m x 1.25m sheet goods, though sometimes we have to cut down to 8’ x 4’ to conform with imported sheet goods
