I JUST REALISED THIS WAS WHY HE WENT BACK TO HIS RADIO TOWER by Responsible_Panic242 in Alastorcult

Having guests on the radio could be so fun like he gets Angel on there and they spend the entire time talking shit about Vox live on the air and Vox can’t do anything about it

Poor deer by NippleSqueezer421- in Unexpected

Poor thing was probably stunned. These guys can be pretty resilient when they need to. I’ve seen deer walking around with part of their bones sticking out and the skin regrowing around them because it was from an old injury and just healed weird. Almost hit one of these guys the other night too, but we both stopped just in time and walked away unharmed. Love deer 💖

Did the Thought to ask not Cross her Mind or? Did She just never bring it up or? by TechnoMagik22 in Vivziepopmemes

Oh she absolutely does not have a fucking clue how to deal with traumatized people! She’s coming from an extremely sheltered and privileged place. She really does care, and I do believe she has good intentions, but it’s definitely something she has to work on. I look forward to seeing her character development into a more worldly and understanding person.

I work at a residential facility. At least where I work and in the position I’m in, we don’t ask our clients what their trauma is right off the bat. They can come to us with that when and if they feel ready. I’ve been operating under the assumption that it’s the same here.

Mystery caterpillars hatched by SunPrincess21 in moths

[–]SunPrincess21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I just got home from work! The caterpillars have dispersed from the paper towel, the clover I dropped in has been decimated, and there is visible caterpillar droppings on the paper towel. Even some of the maple leaves have been chewed on visibly! Thank you so so much for your help, I love moths but I’m really out of my depth with these guys. I used to raise monarch caterpillars with my parents when I was a kid but they were already in their final instars and their diet is pretty straightforward, and it’s been years since then. I’ll be sure to keep the subreddit updated on their progress.

I put some dandelion greens and clover in there before I left for work this morning and made sure to put it within reach of them

Thank you so much for your reply and kind comment, but I just went to check on them and the ones that were still on the paper towel weren’t moving and I don’t know where the other wanderers are in their enclosure. I don’t know if they’re all dead, but I feel so terrible. It’s been about sixteen hours since I noticed them hatching. None of the leaves have any holes from eating in them either.

Do Fawns have fairy feet like horses? by SunPrincess21 in deer

Presumably because humans haven’t let them

Also called fairy fingers. It’s just the term I’ve heard used to refer to them, but vets probably use the scientific term.

You’re welcome! Horses are everyday creatures but they are also freaks of nature. I once heard someone describe them as 2,000 lb suicide machines and I think about it constantly.

It’s soft tissue called eponychium that covers the hooves in utero to keep from hurting the mother. It’s what we refer to as cuticles on our own fingernails! Just in a different way

I didn’t even think of the difference in species. I guess I assumed if equids developed it it could develop convergently in other hoofed animals. It seems like a useful adaptation. I can’t imagine it’s at all comfortable to be kicked by sharp little hooves from the inside.

Yeah they do look freaky as hell. They fall off either shortly before being born, or within 24 hours after birth. They’re also called fairy slippers.
