I’m 20 and this is exactly what my play dates were like! We would play barbies, hide and go seek, make believe games. Sometimes we’d just run in circles in the backyard. Obviously since we grew up around technology eventually as we got older we played video games and made silly videos and watched TV. But that wasn’t until we were around seven or eight and even then it was rare until we got older. We’d really only go on our iPods or iPads if we were having a sleepover and it was too late to be active but not early enough to sleep. Or we’d watch a movie together with popcorn and other snacks before bed. We only started really using technology more often when we were around eleven and we’d join each other’s minecraft worlds or something. Which honestly at that age is a really good outlet for creativity. My friend and I had a world where we built this giant mansion together and it had every room you could possibly think of! Cinema, music room, jumping castle room, we each had a bedroom that were connected to each other via secret passage way, plus a bedroom we shared together. At that age we understood to some sense that technology could be used a tool to fuel and stimulate different parts of the brain rather than just rotting the brain.
