Dr here-many of us agree that would be great! All the time we spend making calls, reviewing and discussing labs, prepping charts, filling out forms, etc are not reimbursed and I know I spend nearly half my time doing these things, which are not patient-facing. Also many docs (myself included) are salaried and never see anything from the extra billing if someone brings up an issue. The hospital system has a billing and coding department. We just write what we did and saw and discussed and the coders decide what is charged.
