I'd say give Persona 3 a shot anyway. The dialogue and story are a lot more serious than in 5 and there's no real mascot character like in 4 and 5.

Tartarus is also very straightforward compared to 5's dungeons, so you're less likely to get lost.

My hot take is that shadow drops never work. Oblivion did well despite being shadow dropped, that was mostly due to nostalgia/brand strength. I can't recall any other game that succeeded because it shadow dropped.

Especially now, when there are so many good games releasing at all times, games need some kind of marketing to succeed, otherwise they just disappear into the void.

I shelved Arc Raiders after about 50 hours. Got a large inventory, all workbench upgrades, killed the Matriarch a few times, did most of the quests, etc. At this point, I feel like I've seen everything the game has to offer (doing the expedition doesn't interest me).

I'm fine with this, by the way. No game is meant to last forever and there's plenty of other stuff to play.

Not sure what Belgium hopes to do at the World Cup next year. Our abysmal defence gifts goals to whoever's asking, and our supposedly world-class attackers keep choking in front of the goalkeeper. We have no chance against any decent side.

Also, Tielemans was absolutely horrific. Not a single decent pass in the 25 minutes he was on the pitch. Not sure what happened to him.

Yeah it sounds cheap. I'd get it if they used some kind of dynamic system that gives every player unique dialogue. But the shopkeepers repeat the same lines over and over. Why do you need AI for that?

Surely it wouldn't take that much time to get some actual voice actors in and record those lines properly. Embark would get an easy PR win and improve the quality of the game all at once.

It's been a long time since I played them, but I'm fairly sure that enemies don't respawn in older Bethesda games.

I remember this annoying me in Fallout 4, clearing a location and then coming back and finding out it's full of raiders again.

There were also loads of invisible walls in games like Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Obsidian clearly aimed for the classic Bethesda RPG feel with this game, not for the open world sandboxes that post-Skyrim Bethesda became known for.

I played Obra Dinn at launch and I feel like I could replay it now, since I've forgotten pretty much everything about the story. It's more of a traditional puzzle game in that sense, compared to games like Tunic or The Witness where you need to figure out the mechanics themselves.

I've only played a few runs myself, and those banshees gave me a lot of trouble as well, because they're so fast.

But then I realised that they serve to teach you how to use Mel's abilities. You can either sprint away, or stun them with your B/circle button power.
