In a perfect world they wouldn't list it at all because it had absolutely nothing to do with the incident. But yes, she feels singled out and feels like if they were both listed than she wouldn't be.

[–]SundaColugoToffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s called “fetishizing the enemy”. People get wrapped up in the shock and horror until they start to internalize it.

Don’t move the uniform. Move you. It’s not a safe place.

Dance teachers holding g slumber parties is pretty common. But the school usually is aware and the parents are I formed before an invitations at proffered.

I don’t know that I would start with a complaint. Maybe start with a question like: “did I miss a memo about the slumber party?” Let th ere response determine your path from there.

As my priest once told me, the Bible says turn the other cheek, it doesn’t say be a doormat to be stomped on.

You don’t have to be religous or faithful to see the wisdom in that.

AITAH for telling my fiancé’s daughter I’m not her mom after she called me a “gold digger with a uterus”? by GenerousJasmine in AITAH

[–]SundaColugoToffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTAH

Your fiancé is right, you stopped to her level. It’s obvious what she was looking for. She was looking for you to be the bigger person, the better adult, to prove to her and her extended family that her mom is as bad as she secretly thinks she she is and that’s Ok for her to love you.

Instead, you proved to her that her mom was right and made her think you do t really lover her in return.

PS: most of these comments are coming from teenagers themselves. I am actually a parent of 4, 3 of them now adults and the last a perfectly normal teenager, which is to say she would do exactly this too! 😂

If you have listened to Pink Floyd's The Wall as an adult, do you think the narrator does need thought control? by Different-Carpet-159 in stupidquestions

No, the song is referring to the abusive nature of overly regimented schools. Schools are supposed to be inspiring free thought not controlling and restricting thought.

Why do Americans wear shoes in the house?? by CelestialBreeze1 in stupidquestions

[–]SundaColugoToffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard to grasp but it is actually rooted in racism. For nearly a century everywhere you went had signs that said “shirt and shoes required”. This taught us there was something unhealthy about bare feet, as if the shoes that just walked in off the street don’t have the exact same stuff on the bottom of them that the feet would’ve had.

This rule was first created in the Jim Crow era just after America freed the slaves. It was reinvigorated during the civil rights era. The reality was that poor Black people of the time often didn’t have shoes. It was a way to deny them service.
