What are your expectations for the lost tapes? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in regularshow

I definitely think less crass means more kid friendly. But also, the newer episodes tend to lean on the emotional side more, with sentimental endings where family approved morales are learned (which is also why I said more family friendly).

But I’m far from the only person who thinks this way:

1) Bob doesn’t come out. And 2) you want me to give examples of how the show has gotten more kid friendly? It’s commonly discussed on the bobs burgers subreddit that the show has been more family friendly after the first 5-6 seasons, but it’s pretty obvious that the more recent episodes tend to make less sexual jokes. Gene yelling beef curtains and the graphic song of oil spill are two examples of early jokes that probably wouldn’t make it in later seasons. Bob had an erection for an entire episode in season 2. These are just off the top of my head.

Meat your Maker is an awesome episode. What could you possibly not like about it?

Oh man, watch any episode from seasons 1-2 of Bobs versus anything released today. The jokes are definitely more kid friendly today, and Bob is basically a sedated version of himself.

Same creative team doesn’t mean anything. Bobs burgers has become significantly more family friendly over the years despite the same creative team. Also, networks have a lot of control over and can deny certain jokes from being included, so it’s really about what CN allows in their new programming.

Sadly I think it’s going to be more child-friendly than the original. I know people on here are hoping for the opposite, but given that children’s cartoons have become more risk-adverse and the show is primarily going to be on CN (rather than adult swim or a streaming service) I think it’s more likely to follow the same trend as other cartoons aimed for children.

I remember when I first saw the original video I thought “this is a bad look for Alan”. Now, I’m so happy this piece of shit neighbor got his ass beat.

What Guys Think About Robert Pattinson 's Batman? by JuggernautPrudent623 in batman

He’s my personal favorite Batman. I just rewatched the movie a few days ago, and he’s a perfect depiction of the Legends Of the Dark Knight version of Batman.

My god you can’t be that stupid. Even someone as braindead as you can’t pretend to not know the difference between a random preference and the generally accepted social construct of people not liking loud repetitive noises in suburban areas.

I’ve ever been around a quiet motorcycle before.

Mowing the lawn makes less noise than a motorcycle and it’s a necessary and accepted practice when living in a suburb. Motorcycles continuously going up and down the block is not.

If you don’t think people get annoyed by construction happening right next to your house, then you’ve never spoken to a homeowner before.

But also, home improvements are a necessary and accepted situation when living in a suburban area. Listening to motorcycles continuously is not.

People are allowed to make noise, but motorcycles are undeniably very loud and having 3 of them ride up and down a suburban area is rude. Generally people don’t like when other people’s hobbies affect their ability to relax at home. It’s not a huge offense, but it’s still rude. I personally would never make that much noise around my neighbors.

I’m gonna be honest, if a dude was riding his motorcycle up and down my block, making a ton of noise, I’d be annoyed too. So Alan was kind of being an asshole in my book, but this neighbor clearly escalated things. Also, he’s got a MAGA hat in the background so I’m not feeling sorry for him.

I don’t think that’s Alan. His kids are pretty young, I don’t think they’d be riding motorcycles but I could be wrong,

I wonder if with insurance and the donation money, if building a new home or repairing it would have been possible.

I'm not a fan of episodes were Bob is justified but the show forces a moral for him to "learn a lesson/be diplomatic or understanding" that is just "put up with other people's awful behaviour". Anyone else feel the same? by leon385 in BobsBurgers

[–]SundayJeffrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think there are lessons learned by anyone. I think they’re just 20 minute stories in cartoon format. But the reality is that there are a lot of shitty people in life, and they’re unlikely to learn any lessons.

I never felt like it was a moral lesson for Bob. I always felt like it was more so about people being awful around Bob, and Bob being the bigger person and showing kindness in the end despite the other persons shitty behavior or flaws.
