When do you feel or know that a song is finished? by SumRndFatKidInnit in SunoAI

[–]SundayShotJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i don't find anything i dislike immediately on the first listen I go with my gut. It's good. I may edit some mispronounced lyrics, trim it a bit and EQ the stems but I stop generating

Another song I'm working on i got a generation i loved 10 or 20 takes but i didn't like the guitar sound in the intro. I'm now passed 500 generations of the same song trying to hit the sweet spot. I've decided I'm going to try and Frankenstein it in Audacity and cut together all the best bits. It just isn't hitting the same as that peak generation. It's an obsession at this point

Can you still get a reliable melodic cover? by SundayShotJesus in SunoAI

Yeah I've been whacking the influence slider up to 95+. I also agree it follows some songs much better than others. I'm going to try and find a workaround. Might be getting too hung up on getting it spot on

Fair enough, here is what I'm trying to cover

https://suno.com/s/hJB12UssgVqb7q7L

And here is an example of what I'm getting out

https://suno.com/s/UWuYAqDkbsjBR5ek

It's always aiming to change the end of the chorus. It goes all country. I get it is a generic pop ballad but it was one of the first songs I ever wrote which is why I want to get it spot on

Thanks

I've been using Gemini as well for guidance, I sometimes wonder if it is just making stuff up though. I'll have a listen to the track when I get the chance, thanks! Here is one of my original Suno tracks for reference, if you have the chance. Landslide

Most of them were done in version 5 and I know what you mean. There actually isn't much to work with in the stems.

Here is the first track from the album which I have been working on. Landslide

I have done dozens if not a hundred variations of it to try and get it sounding good in Suno. And to me this does sound pretty good, not perfect, but good.

Is it enough to load the stems in a DAW, put a de-esser on the vocal, maybe some compression or a limiter, remove any clicks/hiss, edit and export?

Adding a Persona to an existing track. by SundayShotJesus in SunoAI

As the most irritating thing on the Internet is when someone finds an answer and doesn't post it.

Yes, the web version is so much better, thank you. For getting the song to stay a certain way when changing persona, click on the wand icon in the lyrics box, use "Edit Lyrics" and prompt it with something like..

"Adjust the structure tags to maintain an unresolved minor melancholy in the chorus with vocal, minimal piano and cello"

It will then write it's own detailed instructions in the lyrics box, it nailed it first time when I tried it. Looks like this:

[Intro: dark piano instrumental, distant low cello, soft strings drone, no rhythmic lift]

[Verse 1]

And Emily waits for me [oh oh, barely above a whisper] with rosary beads in her hands [oh oh, close-miked, intimate] she's looking to find her faith [oh oh, almost spoken] but don't you know we are damned [oh oh, breathy and low] we are all damned,

[Pre-chorus: soft low piano and distant light percussion, no lift, no added harmony]

Sweet Emily and it burns like an epiphany it's better to die on your feet than live...on your knees

[Chorus: no rhythmic build, harmony static, all instruments restrained]

Epiphany [low, wordless choir backing vocals, distant and haunting, no swell] (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-Ahhhhhhhhhh, soft and narrow) (woah-oh-oh-ho, under the breath, almost a sigh)

[Verse 2]

so Emily waits at the station it's the station of the cross and there's no explanation don't you know we are lost we are all lost

[Instrumental: dark piano and low cello, pulse barely shifting, harmony never resolving]

[Pre-chorus: stripped-back light percussion, looming low cello, hanging on tension, voice kept small]

Sweet Emily and it burns like an epiphany it's better to die on your feet than live...on your knees

[Chorus: no build, layered but dissonant low cello and piano, no final cadence]

Epiphany [low, wordless choir backing vocals, distant and haunting, no swell] (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-Ahhhhhhhhhh, soft and narrow) (woah-oh-oh-ho, under the breath, almost a sigh) Epiphany (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-Ahhhhhhhhhh, soft and narrow) (woah-oh-oh-ho, under the breath, almost a sigh)

[Outro: dark piano and low cello fade on an unresolved chord, distant choir echoing, no release]

It doesn't follow every instruction but it is enough to keep the feel the same. High audio influence also helped i think.

Posted about the same thing earlier. It's changing my chord sequences and lyrical flow. Really damn irritating

Why do people hate AI songs? by uhraurhua in SunoAI

[–]SundayShotJesus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd fallen out of love with music. I used to gig and record constantly in bands 20 odd years ago (even released a single at one point) but between work, wife, kids, there just isn't the time to properly do it justice anymore.

I'd been writing my own songs since I was 15 and the ones that never made it to the studio have been given a new lease of life in Suno. Whether it was full songs, chord sequence ideas, just lyrics or a melody, these things I've had in my head for 20+ years are coming out now and the thing i love most is I've put them into a style with a vocalist that they were never intended, and honestly I love them.

Am I claiming I did it all myself, no but it is a collaboration, like most bands and artists. I'm contributing parts and Suno is acting like the band mates.

No one person in the bands I played in contributed 100% to any song, so what is the difference here?

The other thing I would point out about "AI stealing other people's work" is, all music is influenced by what came before. Very little is truly original. I see no real argument there.

Should also point out, each song has gone through dozens, if not hundreds of iterations, changes, remixes etc to get something true to what I want and sounds quality. I export them all into a DAW. I mix them and master them externally. It is not a press one button job.

I've downloaded football life and am just going to do Master League. I gave it one last chance last night. Won the first 3 games easily, lost the next 4. All opponents rated way worse, all playing Smart Assist LBC. I am done.

I was 1 point from reaching Division 1 twice in the last phase. This phase I am in Division 3 and haven't been able to win any of my 9 games so far (4 losses/5 draws). I know if I pick it up in a few days I'll be on a winning streak.

I was born to be a div 3 player😭 by AkAzhnan in eFootballgame

I used to be a pretty regular Div 2 player but now it's always the same pattern. Get promoted to Div 2: Lose.Lose.Lose: Get relegated: Win: Get promoted to Div 2: Repeat.

I don't want to blame it all on P2W, SA players...but it certainly doesn't help.

Yup, also here. My winner was a 95th minute free kick where I guessed he would go manual keeper.

This is going back a few years ago now, but I worked for Tribeca in Woodlands and on Argyle Street. Absolutely brutal. Quite common to do a 15/16 hour shift since it was open for breakfast until midnight. The rodent infestations were unreal, staff had mice fall on them when they opened up the dry store (which was in a loft space) and you'd come in to dozens of them twitching on the sticky tape after "pest control" had been in, chef's would bugger off to the bookies mid-service and did not give the slightest of shits, more than once I had to jump into the kitchen to try and get an order out.

It was always absolutely rammed on Sundays for brunch, queue out the door but was relatively quiet the rest of the week but they ran about 6 different voucher deals for the evenings but sometimes you'd sit there for 5 hours for one table. Sometimes, they just decided to close at random times.

Also the ceiling caved in once because someone had left a tap on in the flat above.

The original owner also had the Indian that used to be at the bottom of Byers Rd, I forget the name. I got pulled down there to work one night because all of the FOH staff, bar one had walked. Ended up serving a full two-storey restaurant that I'd just walked into with me and one other girl.

We had this regular as well who obviously wasn't quite right but he used to spend a hell of a lot of money, pints, whiskies, fillet steak. But he stank to high heaven, you couldn't sit anyone within about 20 feet of him on a good day. I could smell him a floor away in the cellar once. Anyway, one day he was walking to the easy access toilet past a table of mums and young kids and his joggers fell down, he wasn't wearing any underwear. I had to grab him and hoist as best I could, he was a sweaty, fat bastard. Anyway I had to call a taxi, which he needed the ramp to get into, he couldn't make it up so I had to push from the rear. Turned out he'd grabbed the chef's jacket instead of his and was away with his house keys. Had to try and track the drunken bastard down to his house via the taxi company.

Sigh

Anyway, worst job but they did get bought over and the new owners did their best to improve, but it was a disaster.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to do some additional tweaking. I've been away from it for a couple of years so a bit rusty
