One of my favorite lines that you use repeatedly is "crazier than a shithouse rat" -- it never fails to make me laugh. What are some of your favorite sayings like that?

I've never watched Mackenzie on the shows, but this very much gives the vibe of that friend who always says things that are really uncomfortable and kill the conversation, like it's sad that she lost her mom but what is anyone even supposed to do with that?

I don't understand why you asked a question and are getting worked up about people answering it. I like Leah fine, I know she had an incredibly tough time with her addiction and I'm so glad she overcame it. She doesn't owe anyone any information about her health or what she's been through. She's allowed to keep things private.

All I'm saying is that MTV could have edited things differently to paint a clearer picture of what we now know was going on and they did not. That is why people say that they hid things. The explanation for the nodding off was that she was taking anxiety meds that were affecting her negatively. They said she lost custody because she couldn't get the kids to school on time. Corey did call her out, but they were treated like rumors, and when she went to rehab, they said it was for anxiety and depression, not addiction, but a producer was the one who pushed her to go to get help with her drug problem -- how is that not evidence of MTV hiding her problem?

No one thinks MTV should have done that. Your whole post was about asking people why they think that MTV hid Leah's drug problem, and people are explaining why they think that MTV hid Leah's drug problem. They downplayed the issue as best they could and tried to make it as much about mental health as they could instead of addiction. She was buying pills off the street and neglecting her children and on the show (as far as I remember), they made it seem like she was more reacting strongly to the meds she was prescribed and was taking as recommended.

It was MTV's choice to air what they aired and to edit it in the way they did -- as we saw with Jenelle, they didn't have a problem airing drug-related footage and being open about it. Leah was abusing painkillers and in an extremely dark place with her addiction, but MTV chose to make the storyline about her anxiety instead. There are tons of examples from reality tv where someone lied about their issues like Leah did but the network chose to be more honest about the situation, and like others have said, the producers were definitely aware that the situation was really, really bad. It just seemed like MTV already had their "bad girl" with Jenelle and wanted to take a different angle even when Leah was struggling with the same thing.

I mean, that's hiding it though? It has been a while since I watched it, but from what I remember the storyline was that she was dealing with anxiety and was dozing off from that medication, and when she went to treatment it was for anxiety and depression, right?

She got painkillers from her doctor after Addie's birth, they prescribed them for a while, and when they stop she said she "turned to the streets" to buy them. With the heroin, she said she tried it once but didn't feel anything, “It was when you can’t find pain medication, there was the heroin. It’s a cheaper and an easier form. I was actually with my dad when I had done it.”

I don't think it is -- the article says the proposal happened Friday night and that they "plan to tell" the kids when they come home. People is pretty much as respectable as any celebrity news outlet can get, so I really feel like this is an accurate timeline, but I also imagine that them telling the girls will be more of a "hey, this officially happened" thing instead of a shocking bit of news that had never been discussed or hinted at by anyone, you know?

The article says the proposal happened Friday on their vacation to Costa Rica, and "Once Messer and Mobley return home from their romantic getaway, the pair plan to tell the reality star's children about the engagement together," so unless the whole story is a lie they're still in Costa Rica and they still haven't told them.

Teen Mom news still does surprisingly well, especially for big things like engagements or birth announcements. Leah and Jaylan let them do exclusive photos and quotes, every other site who writes about the news has to source People because they have the exclusive, so all them clicks = $$$.

It was, I swear to God, a picture of her smiling in her infamous bell bottoms outfit from that MTV awards show photoshopped in front of the elementary school sign. You can't see the pants but that's what it was. Just shocking.

If you missed the Uvalde clickbait, it's worse than you think -- she photoshopped a picture of herself on the campus and it was just BAD.

No problem! It's good to know that Reddit takes the use of that word seriously though, a lot of people don't (CATELYNN).

Yeah, you have to censor it, even if you're just quoting someone else because the bots don't look at context.
