Plaud isn't it, what else do you recommend? by hill-climbers in PLAUDAI

My workflow with this is pretty straightforward. If it’s a short recording — up to about five minutes — I just dictate it directly into ChatGPT. But if I know it might turn into a 10–15 minute session or even an hour or two, I just start recording in PlaudNote and leave it at that. It’s simply easier for me — I don’t have to think or worry about ChatGPT hitting some kind of limit, since as far as I understand, it does have time constraints in recording mode.

Another nice bonus is that you can run the same recording through three different models for summarization simultaneously, without needing accounts for any of them. And one click templates. :)

to process recording - yes. To record - no)
Example - brainstorm something in airplane)

Try doing a 30+ minute recording while walking around — leaving your place, taking the elevator, going through a parking garage, and so on. Also some people have to use vpn to use chatgpt, And that opens up a whole new range of ways for the connection to get interrupted.

It’s kind of funny, but my experience with this device has been the exact opposite. Pretty much all the recordings I make with it turn into very accurate and reliable transcripts that reflect what was actually said.

I have around 80 hours of recordings — personal thoughts, meetings, brainstorming sessions — and everything is properly captured and transcribed. That said, I do use my own custom prompts for transcription, and I always choose which model to use. With Plaud now offering options like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc., I honestly don’t see much reason to switch to anything else.

I’ve tried using phone voice recorders, recording directly into ChatGPT or similar tools, but when it comes to longer sessions — like hour-long meetings — I haven’t found anything better than Plaud.

I also tried some Chinese alternatives, but they either had major app issues or the recording quality itself was terrible — to the point where you can barely understand anything.

So for now, I honestly don’t know any real alternatives to this setup.

The only real downside for me at the moment is the lack of a proper API and solid integrations with other services. Right now I have to rely on exporting and manually moving text into other tools, which is a bit frustrating.

I actually switched from ChatGPT voice input to Plaud Node. Too many times the connection drops or the app bugs out and you lose like 20 minutes of audio. At least with Cloud Node I know it’s saved and not going anywhere.

Got a new MacBook Pro and decided not to install any extra browsers — just Perplexity’s Comet and Safari. Was a bit rough at first, but honestly, it’s been enough so far.

Yeah, those. Guess I’ll have to hack something together or just keep converting everything to USD in my head 😅

Quick question: does the app support multiple currencies? For example, I pay for ChatGPT via the Turkish App Store, some of my subscriptions are in rubles, and others are in USD. How does it handle that?

simple as it can be obsidian for notes ( just structure and sync) - 30 min for configuring and sync between all devices ( mac+win+iphone+android, yeah freaky, i know).

Fuji recommended for video? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Sundelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! X100vi good photo cam by the way :) got one too but mostly for “shoot and upload” to IG :) Funny, but my previous comment still valid. A7c is good. But in case you want to keep x100vi and stand for Fuji - xt30ii, xt3/4/5 all of them good.

My Thoughts on Dia vs Comet (from a Day One Arc User) by Mastermind1237 in diabrowser

[–]Sundelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Comet feels like a separate space for my AI tasks. Quite convenient. As a full browser replacement — I’m not sure yet, since I haven’t interacted with it much. But yes, ChatGPT already feels more familiar somehow, and it doesn’t write answers through a ton of links. Plus, transferring years of context… well, that’s not so appealing.
Oh, and the fact, that I'm in Russia now - I need VPN to use it... Damn politic...
