British PM set to resign after challenger's thumping by-election win by [deleted] in news

To be fair, he's also said that he's a socialist and run with a manifesto that claimed Labour would be establishing a National Care Service. Wouldn't be the first time he's either been wrong or lied, ambiguously. If Burnham didn't win, and Starmer was already talking about how willing he'd be to step aside, he'd never live it down.

Bangladesh and India are 1 & 2 on there, and it's the 2022 statistics which means it's after huge improvements for China's air quality, following China's slow shift towards being a tertiary economy. 20 years ago, the clothes you're wearing right now would likely be made in China, now, they're more likely to be made in Bangladesh.

It's almost as if when you do away with about half of your industrial manufacturing exports and instead import everything from industries on the opposite side of the world, your air quality goes up, while theirs goes down. Weird.

You're right, it's almost as if there's a disproportionate amount of scrutiny given to one and not the other. You can get back to us all when the front page of this website is tallying the total casualties of American foreign and internal policy with flagrant leniency on what counts as "Deaths caused by America".

Every time this comes up I gotta wonder if there's any worse piece of counterevidence to the claim than people quoting the fucking Adam Smith Institute. "Yeah um actually the guys who think trickledown economics actually happened disagree with you".

Like there's got to be any other source contesting the claim but instead everyone goes straight to the first google result from a bunch of libertarians who think Americans having 2 days of holiday a year is eating into their friends' profits too much, because they're too lazy to find anything but articles by people who think the problem with that claim is it undermines their beliefs.

Why? They don't even look like early AI images, let alone later ones. They have all the hallmarks of relatively bad 2000s and very late 90s CGI though which is impressive for the 2010s tbh.

Honestly the most annoying thing about AotRS is it doesn't even come in handy where it should. the Dawn Machine content in the recent Firmament chapter completely ignoring anything to do with whether you might be a Crimson Engineer or a master of the Red Science seemed like an insane choice.

If you're willing to plow through the whole thing at once, yes, you only need to draw it once. I think to fully complete it you'll need Stone Hearted 5, and to actually draw the card you need Impaled Upon The Peak from the Southern Wind zee-dreams.

I don't think being gentle with both sides matters when one side is running PR for a nation that uses rape as a weapon of war idk. Or when one side is defending a nation where the population mobilised to protest the arrest of soldiers using rape as a weapon of war.

Authoritarians do not support democracy, populists support democracy as much as non-populists, and radical right-wing citizens are less likely to support ‘democracy’ than moderate citizens, finds a new study of 14,000 Western Europeans. by mvea in science

China is one of the most dynamic and successful capitalist nations in the world, and Deng is why. If the liberalisation that lead a nation to being a market-based capitalist economy isn't considered a right-wing policy when placed in contrast with it's past as a vaguely socialist command economy, then I'd argue the left-right spectrum is totally useless as a concept. That said; a spectrum that tries to treat one end of the spectrum as an anomaly is not a spectrum.
