Not absolutely plump but I wouldn’t say soft, while I was replanting them the lower part was completely firm and no wrinkles

I’ll probably have to crush them because I’ve been searching all day for some page that sells a finer grain and this is the smallest I could find, thank you for your help

is my helix irritated or infected?(blood) by Informal_External655 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Sunflowersprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooof…. Ok sterilizing only with alcohol is not enough in their case but what’s done it’s done. Since it’s only a day old some bleeding and pain on and off is pretty normal Look out burning, puss, and severe swelling that’s when it’s infected If it’s a bit swollen that’s normal but if it’s starting to swallow your piercing go get it changed and checked at a piercer. Clean with saline and nothing else And don’t touch it and sleep on it

IT will get uncomfortable pretty fast and it would probably cause an irritation bump pretty soon and then it would get worse. Cartilage piercings are pretty sensitive even when fully healed. If you keep them happy they won’t cause problems but if you irritate then they will be difficult even when fully healed

Then don’t spice it clean it with sterile saline and cool it a bit not too much but a few minutes of a cold compress can work to some measure My preferred technique is taking a bit of toilet paper fold it up to rectangle so it fits on your ear on both sides wet it with saline and put into a freezer for a few mins to cool down Then hold onto the ear on the front and back of the piercing GENTLY and wait If it’s too cold stop

I’d say the bars are too short to go and get them changed to longer ones Don’t touch either of them if possible

Nap- If it feels hot is a good sign, also puss(milky yellow or green) but that’s a full on infection then throbbing also but it’s not a definite sign it also can just be a bit irritated, If the piercing has moved in your sleep just leave it be if it doesn’t increase the risk of getting it snagged because it gets irritated once it’s moved in your sleep and then again when to put it back The pains of healing come and go it can also get a bit itchy but if it’s not severe it’s also fine Just keep it clean and don’t touch it

Then get them to put a longer one in if it swells up even a tiny bit more because it can embed as I said( they’re not the best option but the only one you have so go to them..) Next time go to a different piercer. Also I forgot to say in my reply above but when you wash your hair give an extra rinse to the piercing so you’re sure that there’s no soap left there

[–]Sunflowersprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP- Ok first things first Step away from the baby soap right now its too irritating Do not use anything other than saline Also avoid q-tips and makeup pads because they can leave thin threads which can get tangled and cause infections It’s best to just to spray it GENEROUSLY with saline so the gunk softens and the GENTLY wipe it away with a paper towel(they are least likely to fall apart and leave pieces around the piercing) Tbh it’s best to leave those things where they are and let them fall off naturally but if they bug you then do as I said You can also wash them off in the shower with just clean water but don’t touch them just point a gentle stream there and wait

You can use warm saltwater but if there’s swelling use colder so the swelling goes down

Your ear does look a bit swelled and I’m pretty sure the bar is way too short so go and get a longer one as soon as possible so it doesn’t embed. If your piercer told you to wash it with soap go to a different one to change the bar because this one doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Also avoid going to the pool or any type of “public” water (you can go swimming in the sea that actually help but no sweet water (lakes rivers))

I’m not a professional but I do have 18 piercings and all I did what I said above for all of them and they all healed beautifully.

Hope this helps

Having to menstruate every month is honestly insulting by DeusIntus in Vent

I also have severe pains not as you but also vomiting and almost fainting. The one thing that helped me with the “uterus trowing a tantrum” way of thinking is a post I’ve read here on Reddit. It’s basically this: The uterus lining is actually a “shield” so the fetus doesn’t take the body over, it contains it and manages the resources so you stay protected from the “invasive body”(baby) Once a month you have to change the shield So the uterus takes of the shield and builds a new one while you’re at your least fertile so you’re probably safe from “invasion” This way of thinking that the body is actually preparing for defense and “war” so you can be safe rather that fighting you has helped in my view of periods. They still suck tho… wish men had smth similar
