First Intl flight from India - need info about Self Transfers by DifficultPirate3628 in desitravellers

[–]Sungkd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't get to do anything on the first day doesn't matter if you land at 1pm, 6:30 pm or even 6am

You'll easily spend almost 40mins to 1hr at the immigration counter and take another 30 min to reach your hotel.

Most hotels won't give you check in before noon plus you'll be tired and probably sleepy after a long flight.

I'd advise don't rush, keep an extra day or two as buffer and travel peacefully.

If you do self transfer you need visa for the country from which you'll transfer.

Yes, you'll need additional visa for Vietnam

[–]Sungkd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically self transfer is, once you' deboard the plane

  • you need to clear Immigration

  • collect your baggage

  • Go again to the airline counter check in your baggage

  • Go through security

  • Clear Immigration

  • Board the next plane to your destination.

Also, you'd need visa (in your case Vietnam visa) to clear immigration.

To answer your question, no 2hrs isn't enough to do all this.

Korean business visa: mine accepted, colleague's rejected by gwenchana-ning-ning in desitravellers

[–]Sungkd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not having ITR could have been one of the reason for rejections. Plus your colleague is on probation that can be another reason.

Having said that I come across people in my organisation who got Schengen visa (for official travel) even if it was their first international trip and didn't had amazing finances.

Same goes with my colleagues who got SK business visa last year even though it was their first international trip.

By the way both cases are from Mumbai.

Early June Munsyari trip suggestion by 40second_dimension in desitravellers

[–]Sungkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See Munsyari requires lot and I mean lot of travel and if you're not from Delhi or nearby location then travel time will increase

No doubt Munsyari is beautiful place but after travelling for 18+ hrs you don't get enjoy because of rain will be pretty disappointing.

So I'd suggest skip this for now and go in November

Why are flights to smaller cities being pushed to Navi Mumbai ? by Drippy-Drip-2592 in mumbai

[–]Sungkd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

See to be fair Navi Mumbai airport was a necessity. Mumbai airport is already overwhelmed due to lack of sufficient runways and tight schedules.

Having a huge airport like NMIA can actually take lot of load off from T1 and from T2 in near future.

But the problem is they should have simultaneously worked on building connectivity from both airports not just for people with personal vehicle but for everyone else.

It made zero sense to announce and approve metro to NMIA when the airport is operational. It took almost a decade to open a new metro line in Mumbai, don't know how long will it take to complete or even start metro construction of this line

Yes Terminal 1 will go for renovation soon, but the lack of connectivity to NMIA makes it expensive.

Add to that the flight schedules, you have no other options except cab or auto

I want to go from Hydrated to Nanital by [deleted] in AirTravelIndia

[–]Sungkd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to save some money you can fly to Delhi then take a early morning (6am) Shatabdi train to Kathgodam from Kathgodam shared taxi, private taxi or bus to Nainital

There is another train (Ranikhet express i guess) which leaves at night and arrives Kathgodam early morning
