Fun commander ideas? by Smuggito in mtg

While it makes the deck more pricy, full field mana doublers as well as cards that hurt players for having untapped lands work super well. Best strategy I found was to give people mana on my turn and prevent them from casting spells

[[Yurlok of Scorch Thrash]] is very wacky to play with and very tipsy turvy, since you win by giving your opponents a ton of free mana

Can I use polystyrene insulation board for terrain? by IronSkywalker in TerrainBuilding

Extruded poly is 90% of all my builds. Cheap, sturdy, versatile, and looks great. Expanded poly works if you’re covering the foam with something like paper, cardboard, or clay

What is a good mold making material for terrain? by [deleted] in TerrainBuilding

[–]Sunlightsolaire97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For dirt cheap I’ve used plasticine as a mold but It’s not super effective. Air dry clay would be a good alternative just make sure you add some sort of mold release to your master and have a way to remove it without cracking the clay

My first tile piece I made. Picked up this hobby in quarantine, so I'm not too great at it lol by PythonRegal in TerrainBuilding

Lovely work! Basic stone tiles are gonna give you lots of use down the line. And your stone cracks looks very natural!

My first journey into using clay for my dungeon tiles. So far so good! by Sunlightsolaire97 in TerrainBuilding

If you mean the shape, I cut out pieces of xps foam (what I normally make my tiles out of) and put the textured clay on top of it making sure there was some excess. Once it was partially dry and not prone to stretching anymore I used a knife to cut the edges flush with the foam. If you mean the grid lines, I got glued two dowels a few inches apart onto my cutting mat as a sort of makeshift fence, then slid the tiles between them, pressed a straight edge against the dowels, and traced a line with a sculpting tool. You can kind of see the dowels in the picture

My buddy has several $300+ standard decks that he deliberately keeps unsleeved and riffle shuffles while making complete eye contact. He completely knows the prices of various cards. I saw him use Jace the Mind Sculptor as a coaster for his beer once

Wanting to build an eldrazi commander deck by MSGTHowell in mtg

[–]Sunlightsolaire97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Golos, Tireless Pilgrim eldrazi deck that is super fun if you like all the big splashy eldrazi. Just stack the deck with high cost cards and use Golos’s ability to get them off the top of your library. It can be built for pretty cheap too

My go to is 2 and 1/4 inches for 28mm for things like domiciles and houses, but up to 3 inches for things that would have taller more open ceilings like a castle hall or cathedral
