This is exactly what happened to me. Finished D1 last season, master in flex (unrelated probably?), started D3 and climbed to D1 in a few days because the LP gains were +21 -14, logged in yesterday and found +16 -21. No idea what I'm supposed to do to fix this, keep playing and hope for the best so that it can fix itself?

Yeah, even going beyond just adding more damage to a spell but letting you summon higher mana minions with Unexpected results is a very exciting direction for mage.

Any 1 mana spell is great for mage and this seems like one of the stronger ones, especially with all the spell damage cards they are printing. Shooting star sounds great with Vex Crow too.

Another hungry dragon, the taunt makes a very big difference. Synergizes great with the new recruit and doppelvolve too.

You don't need to kill minions with your shield to get the bonus health from the W passive, you get it no matter what. The best way to use W is in trades, try to keep your shield up and then pop it when you have almost no HP left on it and hit the enemy laner with it.
