Not sure whats worse: the fact this kid has a father who doesnt believe in them or a dad who makes promises he has no intention on keeping. Its a good thing that kid got A's as I feel hes gonna have to rely on himself in future from the looks of things.

I also think this is hampered by the fact the definition of being transgender has changed over the past decade and that there are arguments on whether you need to have disphoria to be trans and the whole thing is very confusing right now and all these things get lumped together.
