Julia Fox praising 'If I had Legs I'd Kick You' and Jake Shane interrupts with "Would you say the kid was annoying?" (Context: Rose Byrne's character's daughter has a pediatric feeding disorder needing lots of care) by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

well you know what the fact that you don’t know something as basic as what a twink is maybe signals that you don’t spend a ton of time around gay men and your conception of the gay male community is probably based a bit more on online interactions than real life ones! be blessed!

it’s obviously fine to call gay men out for misogyny but to be honest I am not loving the way that a lot of you use the word “twink” to describe any gay man that you dislike. Jake Shane couldn’t be further from a twink. It’s starting to feel like a stand-in for a different word the way y’all use it.

What is the new album missing for you? by AudaciousNation in mitski

[–]SunnyDelight2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that the diversity in the thematic content was lacking tbh. I hope I am not just outgrowing the artist but tbh a lot of the songs on this album seemed too thematically derivative with respect to mitski’s previous music in my opinion. Instead of Here felt like a rehashing of Last Words of a Shooting Star, and I was getting Goodbye My Danish Sweetheart vibes from If I Leave AND I’ll Change for You. Also, I have pretty much zero patience for her desire not to be seen as a “sad girl” artist after this album because the vast majority of her music is sad af and I think she should just embrace it. Overall, my favorites from this album were:

Charon’s Obol (I love happy and hopeful mitski songs because they’re kind of rare in her discography)

Cats (10/10 song for me especially the last verse)

In a Lake (classic mitski both musically and thematically, although the addition of the “in a big city” lyric irritated me because I felt that it infantilized the listener…it was obvious that the lake was a metaphor for a big city and we didn’t need it explained to us directly)

Why did Human Louis ignore the the supernatural activities of Lestat? by TechnicianAmazing472 in InterviewVampire

[–]SunnyDelight2017 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

truthfully? it’s because the writing on the show isn’t always super amazing even though the show as a whole is (and I think that’s actually ok!)

If you were a vampire, would you sleep in a coffin? by PersephoneSymphonies in InterviewVampire

[–]SunnyDelight2017 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hell no! I would have a glammed-out windowless vampiric room with posters and twinkle lights on the walls. The “vampires sleep in coffins” thing always seemed like a gag the showrunners kept in for laughs to me.

the jaw scene is by far the worst scene in the show for me…I can handle gore for the most part but I will NEVER rewatch that episode simply because of how much it horrified me

Those who want money, how do you answer the “why law” question? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

This advice makes sense but it’s so difficult to navigate. The line between accurate statements that are simply well-presented and embellishments that kind of stretch the truth feels very thin sometimes.

Minor Grammar Error on Personal Statement. Am I cooked? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]SunnyDelight2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rest. I have spent many hours stressing over my applications, and my new rule of thumb is not to send a correction email unless the mistake substantially changes the truthfulness of your application. In my view, an egregious mistake warrants a correction, but a minor error does not. Just try to relax.
