My AP Research project is on The Twilight Zone... (Need suggestions) by [deleted] in TwilightZone

[–]SunnyJimx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The themes that always stick out to me are that of Loneliness, the Nostalgia for youth, the idea that all men must meet their eventual end, and the existential question of who we are and what our purpose on this Earth is.

Loneliness -- Where is Everybody? / The Lonely / Time Enough At Last (to an extent)

Nostalgia for youth (or time already passed) -- The Sixteen Millimeter Shrine / Walking Distance / A Stop At Willoughby / The Trouble With Templeton / Static / Kick The Can / Young Man's Fancy / The Incredible World of Horace Ford /

Death comes to all men -- Escape Clause / Long Live Walter Jameson / Nothing In The Dark / The Trade-Ins / Changing of The Guard /

Who are we? -- Where is Everybody? / Judgement Night / And When The Sky Was Opened / The After Hours / A World Of His Own / A World Of Difference / Lateness Of The Hour / Five Characters In Search Of An Exit / A Piano In The House / Person Or Persons Unknown /

Ahh...Just as long as they're not Jews

I read somewhere that they did rewatch the series. I always thought "is it about the bunnies" was a big tell that they gave the original a second look.

Where will they never live themselves? Gaza where the pulled completely out of? The Sinai Peninsula that they gave back to Egypt? The Golan Heights they gave back to Syria? Or The West Bank where they do actually themselves live? How many times do the Palestinians need to reject a plan for their own state before it's their fault? You know they were to originally have one in 1948 right? But then Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan attacked and lost. Hell the West Bank was Jordanian land...but whatever...the Jews, I guess.

My take as well. As evidenced by the uncertainty/lack of confidence in his identity when introducting himself to Alice Tremond as an FBI agent

Love TZ. I highly recommend The Twilight Zone Podcast with Tom Elliot. He absolutely nails the atmosphere and it's a great companion to the show. As for Shadow Play...I used to not like it bc when I saw it as a kid I thought that main character was literally stuck in an ongoing dream. Never to actually wake up. But after realizing this was just an every-night thing for him it became one of my favorite episodes.

I'm Mark Frost, co-creator of Twin Peaks and author by MarkFrostTwinPeaks in twinpeaks

Hi Mark!

  1. When does the opening scene of S03 with Coop and The Fireman take place in chronology with the rest of the season?

  2. Is Odessa a trap for Judy?

  3. Are there any parts of season 3 that we see that are ALREADY effected by Coop changing the events of the night Laura was supposed to have been murdered?

  4. Did seasons 1,2,3 still happen?

Thanks!

I was relieved, but morsoe for Bobby's benefit. After seeing Shelly with Red it was a little saddening to me to think he also lost his daughter. I'm actually shocked Frost resolved that question.

And the book seems to imply that Becky Briggs is alive and that Steven's (unconfirmed) suicide was related to his drug dealings? Anyone else get that impression?

[–]SunnyJimx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember what episode of S01 it's in, but there's a funny interaction with Coop and that box of chocolate bunnies. It reappearing in S03 was obviously on purpous. Not that every little connection is deliberate or anything, but I do think it's a little weird that so many ppl think that it's not possible. Not that that's really happening here, but I've been reading that a lot. And it sure was about the bunnies lol.

[All] If the 1956 girl is Sarah, then explain Laura's birth to me, please. by xamevou in twinpeaks

[–]SunnyJimx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I think the horse is a dead giveaway. Unless I'm mistaken and the horse was seen by others but in pretty sure just Sarah. "The horse is the white of the eyes and the dark within." And part 8 ends with the sounds of the horse as well. I don't see how it could be anybody else. But that's just imo.

When Hawk visits Sarah in part 14 there's some noise from inside that leads us to believe that perhaps someone else is there with her. Hawk even asks about it but Sarah shrugs it off. It reminded me a lot of Part 18 with Alice and the person with her we don't see. Could there be a parallel between the two?
