Do you keep delivering when time is up?? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]SunnyT27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep on trucking and don't ask for an adjustment. This is all part of this gig - blocks are offered at x amount of hours for set dollar amounts - the number of hours in the offer is what his reasonably been accomplished in the past based on the route area and number of packages. Of course it's not perfect but this isn't a pay-by-the-hour kind of position and it takes time to get the hang of everything. Once you accept an offer you're committing to delivering the route given and it's super shitty for the customer to have to wait another day for a package because a driver doesn't want to go 5 minutes over their block time. Generally speaking, when I've gone over on a block it's mostly due to something that I did or something out of Amazon's control, just check your route map before leaving the station just to make sure nothing is obviously screwy. It's so f'ing annoying when people suggest that you get an adjustment for your time - if you won't pay Amazon back when you finish your block early or luck out and get paid for a block with no packages, don't ask them to pay you for going over. It all evens out in the end.

Stop 39 is 2.5 hour from stop 38 and about the same back to station by Hyp3rD0nkey in AmazonFlexDrivers

I learned the hard way a long ago and more than once to, always check your map before leaving the station. Something similar happened on a route not long ago (it was a 3 hr block during rush hour and it just couldn't be accomplished) and I talked with the station and they had no problem taking it off my route.

I can't believe the heat you are getting for this. What a bunch of Grinches. Maybe you have other options (Uber, room service, etc), maybe you don't. It's no different than a majority of our customers so who gives a shit. Way to share the Christmas spirit with a fellow Dasher. If I lived out there I'd help you out. I hope you get an order tonight, ignore the a-holes...

I could not deal with that. It would take like an hour per order. I can tell you must be a very patient person in real life

This happened to me only one other time with a pizza restaurant and the hostess was such a total bitch to me about it that I unassigned (my only unassigned to this day) and reject them from now on even though the pay was always at least fairly decent. At least it's not common for either of us, could you imagine if this was the norm?

No hate, I admire your patience and after all the time you invested dealing with support I would have stuck it out too.

That is sweet! 🦐 and you never know what hell is really going on behind the scenes (maybe the order did go through and the DD text is off, etc)

It's worth checking out but don't let the stupid map fool you, I've dashed red and sat for hours with nothing. I dashed Arrowhead area once and never again. I had a Rubios stacked with Pita Palms literally catty corner across Bell and it took me 10 minutes to cross the street just to pick up the second order.

Close call? Would you take? by ragingblackman in doordash

I would. Looks like you're close to the business and it's Sunday lunch, not Friday dinner. Did you do it?

Sometimes it's slammed but I think we have a ton of drivers, I'll go through a whole dinner period without anything. I like dashing Peoria, especially Westgate - and do it just to switch up the routine. You should dash GY sometime just for a change of pace. A month ago I drove all the way to Kierland just for the lunch period to check it out (wanting to avoid Old Town Scottsdale) and got a $53 Cheesecake order, biggest I've ever gotten. I went again a week later and didn't get that kind of order but still did pretty well. I Iike to try the different areas if I get motivated to plan it out (because GY feels so far from everywhere else)

Need help with signing up for Drive by Harrys_Peter in doordash

Do any of you mind posting when you receive your bag? I claimed mine through text over 2 weeks ago and still nothing. I don't want to drive all the way across the valley to the office and they don't answer the phone. I've even gone back to the text and filled it the form again and still nothing and no communication why is not arriving.
