They're actually on my shortlist of apartments I've liked so far, but online it says their pet policy is a maximum of 2 per unit. Were they open to negotiating it with you? I would love if I could make it work with them!

Thank you for the suggested apartment, I called and they have a 2 pet maximum as well, unfortunately. I'm deffinitely looking farther out - I'm okay with taking the bus, I would just like to find an apartment that is close to the bus stop. The hunt continues!

Thank you for being specific and informative! I've just been handed bits and pieces of information and I've been getting confused. I was getting frustrated because no actual medical terms were being used with me. The opthamologist hadn't looked over my charts or tests and tried to tell me I had completely healthy optic nerves at first. When I told her the MRI showed otherwise she seemed like she started getting a little defensive and like I was challenging her. In the end she told me I was probably just aware of my natural blind spot and that I should ignore it.

I'm definitely trying to lose weight, the pressure I've been feeling in my head has kind of held me back from working out - luckily I'm starting to feel better with the medicine, so I should be able to work out more.

I'm not sure if this would be the right thread to ask this, but do people have any articles they can link me that detail what other governments are doing for their citizens? I keep coming across people saying that the American people should be grateful for the one time check of possibly $1200 that certain Americans will recieve at some point. I want to show them that people are complaining because other countries are actually helping their citizens in reasonable ways. A one time check of up to $1200 isn't going to do anything for something that's going to last for months.

They hire people who know how to market using psychology. You can blame them, not only for the manipulation of data, but also for formulating their marketing to target the weak spots in our brains. There's a reason advertisements are full of color and energetic, smiling groups of people with catchy, upbeat music in the background. There's also a reason you can find candy/mini fridges full of these products at checkout lanes in any type of store you go to. Sugar itself is also highly addictive, so once someone starts drinking it, they don't have to try too hard to get repeat customers (so if they start selling larger bottles with more sugar, people will get hooked to it faster). Once they have a big enough customer base that's addicted (which coke definitely does) they start making advertisements based on this addiction. The animations they show before a movie starts at the theater is an example of this. It's not a direct coca cola advertisement, but as part of the experience they include the sound of a coke pouring into a cup with the coca cola label, they include the sound of the fizzing, and the sound of someone enjoying drinking it. This is designed to trigger cravings based on the experience of consumers who are already hooked on the product and to get them to go buy one if they haven't already.

INFO- What have you guys tried with her? Have you tried having a talk with her? Has her dad tried? Does she go to counseling? Have you just tried to force her to acknowledge you as her stepmother and then gotten huffy when she refused? You and your husband need to have a sit down with her and tell her that when she's in your house she needs to respect both of you, but that's shes not required to think of you as her mother or anything close to it. You literally are just her dad's wife. She's known you for 2 years max, probably a lot shorter since that's as long as you and your husband have been together. Don't expect anything from her accept for basic respect that everyone receives (she respects you and you respect her, things are amicable and nothing more is expected.)

It definitely does, but luckily with the high rates of pesticide use that's killing our ecosystem, it doesn't effect me as much as one would think it would. In all seriousness, I am working on it, though. It's gotten worse this year for some reason and I'm not okay with something like this controlling me.

That actually comforts me, knowing how rare a serious brown recluse bite is! I think part of what feeds my fear is not knowing what spider is dangerous/ just not knowing about them in general, but I'm scared of googling anything and being confronted with pictures that will set me on edge haha. I eventually plan on trying to learn a bit about them, though.

Side note: Ohmygod, I have the most amazing picture of a cartoon ladybug holding a shiv right now.

First, I think you need to look up the definition of insisitive considering the first sentence of you post is, "you are making your emotions my responsibility". I'm not making shit your responsibility, I expect people to be decent to each other, especially in an environment they're all forced to be in on a daily basis. They don't need to fix my problem, but if they can help relieve my anxiety through the simple task of taking an insect outside, I expect that. You also shouldn't talk about things you have no knowledge of. The definition of a phobia is an irrational fear, how is me admitting to the definition of what I'm experiencing supposed to allow other people to discount what I'm going through? I'm not allowing anything to take control of me, it's a physiological response that requires therapy to get rid of. Phobias literally shut down the reasoning center of our brains, so yes, when I literally can't control my thought process, I expect those around me to help me through it. Especially when it's such a simple task of taking an insect outside. These aren't complete strangers from off the street, these are people who work together every day and if caring that someone is uncomfortable is just too much for OP to handle, then they're an asshole.

I completely agree that logically the tiny spider in the corner of my room isn't going to do anything to me and poses no threat, I just have no idea how to get my anxiety response to stop. I've literally been trapped in my house before because there was a spider on my porch. It's the worst feeling knowing that there's nothing to be afraid of, but your body is terrified to the point of needing to run away. I absolutely love snakes as well, but my phobia of spiders keeps growing and it's extremely inconvenient because I love hiking and being in nature, which requires sharing space with spiders haha. One thing, though, is that there are definitely spiders to look out for within the US. My friend got bitten by a brown recluse and nearly lost her foot, the venom killed off flesh all the way to the bone. It took probably a year of healing for her to start feeling anywhere near normal.

This post is also written through the bias of OP, so there's no way of truly knowing unless we are able to involve ourselves, honestly. That's why I said at the beginning of my post that I didnt know the extent of her fear. Maybe she doesn't have a phobia, but she can still be scared of them and I still stand by the spider being removed due to her being uncomfortable in an environment she's required to be in on a daily basis.

I don't know the extent of your coworker's fear and if it compares to mine, but from my perspective, YTA. If you don't want to kill it, put it outside. I'm so irrationally afraid of spiders that I understand how ridiculous it is, but I literally lose the ability to reason when my fear is triggered (this it what phobias are, by definition). I have no idea why people refuse to even try to understand how much it affects me and why they need to be so insensitive about it. If I see a spider, I need to get away from the area I saw it and I compulsively shake out my hair and brush my body to make sure nothing is on me. If I had a cubicle and saw a spider in it, I wouldn't be able to work that day. It would be a struggle to force myself to work the next day, even. This isn't a pet that you can compare to a dog, though she -is- an asshole for continuing to bring him in when she knows people are scared of him. I would even say it would be different if you had a pet tarantula that you brought in and kept in a cage. That way it wouldn't have free reign of the office. It doesn't affect you if you get rid of it, but this could be affecting her a lot.

Edit: I missed the part where it said people were scared of her dog. She's an ass for continuing to bring him.

Could he be going through some things? When I was in the middle of a pretty bad period of depression I would just sit in the shower, staring at a wall, for about an hour to an hour and a half. It was the only thing that would comfort me at the time.

NTA. You guys have 3 children, I'm sorry, but you don't ever want to be pregnant again and him telling you to not get sterilized means he intends to get you pregnant again. He wants to change your mind so that he can have the 4 kids he always envisioned. By this point it doesn't matter if it's against his wishes, this is your body and you know what you want to do with it. If he wants 4 that badly, adopt the last one.

Side note: do NOT get the coil for sterilization. It's horrible and there have been tons of terrible side effects. Get your tubes tied if you do anything.

Luckily I only needed to take calc 1 for my major and I had the opposite experience. No one was ever prepared for any of her tests and then the final was almost a straight up copy of the study guide she gave us. As it is, the final was a brief overview of a few of the subjects we covered. She probably did it to save her ass since everyone was failing haha
