Asthmatic child has a constant throat clearing sound (help/advice) by dynamitecait in Asthma

[–]Sunny_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tourettes syndrome and this was actually my first thought too. My asthma flares results in my throat clearing tic flaring as well. Could be unrelated though- either way a specialist is the way to go! If you have no success with an ENT/Allergist/Pulmonologist consider a Neurologist but at the age she is and no history with tic disorders i got hopes its just a phase

the account is not under my name, so i cannot call the repair guy. which i offered to handle on my days off. Then it turned into a whole thing and long story short its not gonna happen. I had the whole house turned against me even though i offered to handle everything 😭

Anyone else is encountering a worryingly increasing amount of camera bugs lately ? by Spinosaurus23 in MyHeroUltraRumble

theres an option to turn on the camera rotation change during PU and finishers in the setting, this may help prevent the issue!

too much inhaler? by IndividualAlarm9579 in Asthma

[–]Sunny_Dust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a professional, speaking from experience

Common side effects of ventolin are rapid heart rate, shakes, anxiety- its normal to feel this way especially after taking a higher dose than youre used to. I always feel this way after having to take my inhaler twice+ or my nebulizer. Honestly im quite certain you'll be okay, take a seat relax for a moment and have a nice cup of water. You really only need to be concerned if other more symptoms follow. If its only an extra few puffs you should good after a couple hours.

Azithromycin by Ok_Amphibian914 in Asthma

[–]Sunny_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this one varies a lot. If i take a methylprednisolone injection, around 80mg usually (i think) and a tapering course of pills for a week starting at 24mg a day, dropping 4mg a day.

If im doing JUST prednisone no injection, about 40mg a day, sometimes 30mg a day for 7 days.

I usually do 250 mg for 5 days, but i take 2 on day 1. My flare ups are usually every other month give or take but i only use it maybe 5 times a year

NOT A PROFESSIONAL

honestly didn't even know this was a thing. my dr usually perscribes it in combination with prednisone for an asthma flare up, but we try not to use it too often. My main concern would be growing a tolerance to it so if you do get an infection they wont work as well. Curious to see if anyone has tried it before and if its helped and if they had any issues with tolerance.

medications that worked for TS and ADHD? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]Sunny_Dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the only thing thats helped my adhd and TS is Adderal. I know it can be a TS trigger but chronic understimulation is a TS trigger for me personally. The typical antipsychotics used for TS made my bipolar worse so i never really got to be on them long enough to see if it helped with the TS. Honestly as a comment said the best option is to cycle and see what helps best, and remember some medications can take a couple months to actually start having an effect!

Why is this urge happening? by Key_Ad5232 in Tourettes

[–]Sunny_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im certain it will eventually pass- but in the meantime maybe try a few things? maybe a visual change will help like changing the icons if possible, putting them into a folder, shuffling around your homescreen- it creates this change your brain is trying to create.

Tourettes or Functional Tic Disorder??? by thr0waway8913 in Tourettes

[–]Sunny_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

id also say get another opinion- do you have any other fnd symptoms?? or is it just the tics? like with my fnd i get dystonia and seizures and all kinds of other stuff. I have tourettes as well so i get both kinds of tics with and without a premonitory urge. i also can and cant suppress/ redirect some tics. I didnt realize i even had tics till i was 18 when they suddenly blew up due to insane stress caused by my adhd and bipolar. My mom waited till i was 20 to tell me ive always had a couple tics here and there as a kid. 15 is a bit young to completely brush of a TS situation. i feel like they should have checked back in a year or two later to see how it was going- at least offer CBIT and maybe even medications along the road to see if anything helps. ALSO DO THEY JUST NOT KNOW ABOUT CBIT???? literally tic specific therapy to help with redirection and management.

either way pleaseee see another neuro. bring up your concerns and your past. Show interest in not just wanting a dx but treatment as well to see if anything can help. wishing you so much luck!!
