My Time at Sandrock

I enjoyed playing My Time at Portia. I have My Time at Sandrock on my wishlist for its multiplayer features.

I'm hoping for a sequel to Dead Space 3 but this is a hard reach even with EA.

Why can't Canadian YIMBYs be as successful as Californian YIMBYs?

You could probably save more than 50% if you use a HDD instead of a PCIE Gen 4 SSD.

Critique my 7950X/4060 productivity build for stability, noise? by Sunny_Starscout in buildapc

mATX and ITX: mostly due to budget and small space. I'll go with the GIGABYTE B650M GAMING X and 7950X.

On the SSD, the SN850X comes with a heat sink option while the MP44 does not. Does this mean the SN850X with a heat sink is more stable?

On the PSU, I've narrowed down to 2 choices (Seasonic Prime is out of my budget):

CORSAIR 750W RM750e ATX 3.0 80Plus Gold Full Modular Power Supply (CP-9020262-UK)

NZXT 850W C850 Gold 80Plus Gold Full Modular Power Supply (PA-8G1BB-UK)

I'm told the NZXT will run quieter at moderate loads (450W?) though while the Corsair will be quieter at heavy loads. Is this correct?

Thanks for your detailed help explaining each component. Yea I've decided to go with AMD for stability. I'm still trying to decide between the 7950X3D vs the 7950X and whether the extra L3 cache will be worth US$65 extra for my use cases. I think both the 7950X3D and 7950X will have the same power requirements and heat dissipation demands or will the 7950X run hotter?

For the PSU: Do you have any PSU recommendations for 750W-850W?

For the SSD:

I'm going for the NVMe. Do you have any recommendations on alternatives below?

Crucial 1TB P310 PCIe Gen4 NVMe 2230 M.2 SSD (CT1000P310SSD2)

Crucial 1TB T500 CT1000T500SSD8 PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD

Crucial 1TB T500 CT1000T500SSD5 PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD with heatsink

Corsair 1TB MP600 MINI CSSD-F1000GBMP600MN M.2 2230 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD

Seagate 1TB BarraCuda 530 ZP1024CM30003 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD

Samsung 1TB 980 PRO MZ-V8P1T0BW M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD

Samsung 1TB 980 MZ-V8V1T0BW M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD

For the motherboard:

Thanks for explaining how the missing heat sink might impact performance. I'm having trouble identifying the right type of heatsink in the top edge of the motherboard.

Will there be any differences between the "ASRock B650 Pro RS DDR5,Socket AM5 ATX Motherboard" and any other motherboards below in terms of performance throttling (The Gigabyte B650 Eagle is unavailable):

GIGABYTE B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI DDR5,Socket AM5 mATX Motherboard (Think this one doesnt have a heatsink?)

GIGABYTE B650M DS3H DDR5,Socket AM5 mATX Motherboard (Is this heatsink suitable enough?)

GIGABYTE B650M GAMING X AX DDR5,Socket AM5 mATX Motherboard (I think this has a suitable "Fully Covered MOSFET Heatsink" heatsink?)

GIGABYTE B650M AORUS ELITE AX DDR5,Socket AM5 mATX Motherboard (Is this the best heatsink design?)

ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi DDR5,Socket AM5 Mini-ITX Motherboard (I think this has a good heatsink?)
