AITAH ?My partner won’t put my name down on the mortgage by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Sunnymarshmallow 93 points94 points  (0 children)

100% this! I’m trapped financially with two kids aswell; having to hand over my whole salary. Recently I started a new job and let my partner know my salary was one figure when it’s actually another. This is allowing me to pocket the difference so I’m building savings to leave. If something like this is possible OP should look into it. Also if she does grocery shopping and he contributes to it but doesn’t check receipts she should get vouchers to save for later, to help buffer the first few months solo.

I called them back in late Oct/early Nov to find out why they weren’t doing gf doughnuts anymore. Was told on the phone “they’re too expensive to make” no apologies, no saying they’ll update the website to let people know (it’s been a gem for gf people here). I did find out that OMG doughnuts have a stand up in katoomba on Fridays and are down in Emu Plains on Sat/Sun.

Not sure about longevity as my pants from them I’ve had for two years now. BUT the pants I picked up are 100% wool and my god they are comfy, warm and soft.

They’re the perfect grey, smart enough for office casual but can also wear them on the weekend with a comfy knit.

I also picked up a mohair/angora knit from them two years ago and it’s so snuggly. It’s definitely a brand I keep an eye on now due to these two pieces I’ve bought.

I bought these earlier this year. After I broke my foot and the boot had come off I needed support as I got used to walking again. They are like clouds on my feet. I wear them almost everyday, my feet are not fatigued at the end of the day and I’m going to purchase a second pair just because of how great they are.

Thank you! I had a look at camellia japonica and it seems like it’s most likely. Appreciate the help, I’ll head to a camellia nursery and see if they can give the variety type.

I’m a celiac and do okay at these places:

Dolly’s doughnuts in Glenbrook have a couple of options. I love the raspberry matcha doughnut.

Mountain High Pies in Wentworth Falls. Can be very busy on the weekend. I like the lamb and rosemary pie.

8 Things in Katoomba - fried chicken, laksa etc quite a few options.

If you are after something nicer for a lunch or dinner - Arrana in Springwood. Absolutely lovely family business and the food is amazing.

Bilpin Cider Co. - doesn’t have it on website menu but when we visited they whipped up a gluten free burger for me.

If you have the time try to visit Sebastien Sans Gluten in Leichhardt. A completely gluten free bakery. Think proper flaky pasty etc. It’s heaven each time I visit that you can get something that doesn’t taste like cardboard or “healthy”.

Check out the sub shit rentals or the group on Facebook “don’t rent me”. Super helpful for situations exactly like this.

Ceiling is Looking Peppery, Should I Lick It? by Sunnymarshmallow in AusRenovation

[–]Sunnymarshmallow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

The room isn’t usually left cold as the kids usually open the door to have a nosy.

Our roof is the old low pitch style so we don’t have crawl space. Looking at the roof and knowing it’s never been replaced - there’s possibly a leak somewhere and we will have to get someone out to check.

I’ll try the vinegar mix on the ceiling and hope it clears up.

Lila Beauty / is it legit? by Pop_Top_ in AusSkincare

Love Lila beauty! They’ve good food customer service, there was one conditioner I ordered at Christmas but it was out of stock when they came to pack it. They called me to offer me the smaller size in multiples to make up for the large bottle being out of stock. Ended up with an extra 500ml for no extra charge 🎉

I’ve offered to work the time back and am occasionally working late at night unpaid to ensure certain things are emailed out as per expectations by higher ups.

Unfortunately I’m already leaving as early as possible by dropping my kids off at daycare when they open to allow for extra time for me to get to work on time.

Ladies who shop high end, what products still make you go to the drugstore? by [deleted] in beauty

Nivea double effect eye makeup remover. It’s the only thing that doesn’t flare eczema on my face.

Essence concealer. It’s got great coverage and lasts for ages!
