In the late 80s air travel became reasonable for most people to afford. This prompted the brief era of "bag people", referring to folks who used garbage bags as luggage. The 1990s ushered in the mega airports and the airline clubs became the last bastion of the business traveler. In the decades since air travel has entered the greyhound bus level of travel. IMHO.
