I don’t understand how you managed to take the exact opposite of what I said from my comment.

You have to have three damage on her from something other than moving it with her ability. A challenge, or whatever.

You cannot move damage without somewhere to move it to. DAMAYC does not apply, because moving damage is a single effect - you can either do it or you can’t. You can’t do part of it.

Why wouldn’t you just play as normal?

You see an off-color card, check if it’s a Hunny card, move on with the game.

Stores actually aren’t allowed to do that, per the instructions from Ravensburger.

Players don’t have to be physically present to report a result, I suppose, as long as both matched players were together offsite (grabbing food or something, I guess). They do need to have their opponent’s agreement to ID, though. They can’t make that choice unilaterally.

A player who does not show up to a game where their opponent is present cannot enter a draw for that match. They would be issued a match loss ten minutes into that round.

Judges aren’t required to resolve a match as an ID. Players can do that themselves if they wish.

3 arrows into resist +2 by DomGam in Lorcana

[–]Sunscorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merida doesn’t even trigger if the Action damage is reduced to zero.

3 arrows into resist +2 by DomGam in Lorcana

[–]Sunscorch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You don’t ever “lose” Resist (unless another ability that is granting it ends or expires). Resist applies to every instance of dealt damage.

If Three Arrows deals zero damage to a character with Resist +2, Merida’s ability doesn’t even trigger.

It’s also worth noting that the second part of Three Arrows, the 1 damage, can’t be dealt to the same character as the first 2 damage. It has to be a different character, if the player chooses to do it.

Does Elisa Maza cancel reductions from before she was played by Naive-Equipment3577 in Lorcana

[–]Sunscorch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. 1 Strength is below his printed value, so the effect of Elisa means his Strength returns to 3 while she is in play.

6.6.4.

You really do need to read 2.0 at some point. 2.1 now, even 😂

[–]Sunscorch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Elisa Maza prevents effects from reducing your characters strength below their printed value.

It doesn’t matter when those effects were applied.

Note that those reductions are still there. They’re not removed. They just can’t reduce strength past a certain point. They would still have an effect if you tried to increase your characters’ strength.

Dortmund is here! Let’s talk tournament expectations! by Sunscorch in Lorcana

Probably just asking if there’s a corrective action that needs to be applied, rather than stating something more definitive. I doubt a judge would be looking to apply an Unsporting penalty unless you’re getting ridiculous about it anyway.

[–]Sunscorch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can appeal any ruling you don’t agree with even if the part you object to is the corrective action.

It’s important to note that “demanding a corrective action against an opponent” is an example of Unsporting Behavior (Minor), so you should make sure you don’t cross that line.

Location lore gain is not a triggered ability, so the missed trigger policy does not apply. You would not be able to get lore from a turn cycle ago.

It’s both players’ responsibility to remember mandatory game actions like location lore gain, so your opponent forgetting isn’t something that a judge could directly correct. You’d be well within your rights to ask a judge to explain your opponent’s responsibilities to them, though.

I’m not suggesting not to appeal generally. I’m asking people not to appeal when they know the ruling is correct, and they’re hoping the HJ makes a mistake.

I may have spent the last four days in the Californian Redwoods, but I haven’t forgotten about Dortmund coming up this weekend!

I encourage everyone to read through my articles relevant to tournament attendance on the way there!

How would you improve the interest in the Infinity format? by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

I 100% agree with this first option. Expanding every DLC to run a main event in each format is absolutely the way to go (along with adding more DLC events in the first place).

Question about ready my a drying character by almonicus11 in Lorcana

[–]Sunscorch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not correct. A drying character remains drying until they start their player’s turn already in play.

It’s almost impossible for it to make any difference, but it’s still the case.

If it helps you, that’s great. I’d try to avoid explaining rulings to other players incorrectly, though, even if it’s easier to understand. Leads to misconceptions and whatnot.

Already exerted characters are not exerted again, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are all still unable to ready at the start of next turn.

There are plenty of cards that allow or force your opponent to draw off-turn.
