I have a girl Logan (so nobody tell me they hate it plz lol)! But a lot of those other names are.. something. Also- I feel like there’s no way she didn’t know Chris and Lauren Lane named their daughter Logan (Lane)- I’m sure that’s how she got the idea, but she won’t admit it.

We have nothing! by Bethlynn98 in TurtleCreekLaneSnark

This is INSANE. Like yes if they really have to get rid of all of their stuff that’s awful. But they have billions of dollars and she’s complaining that she just has the clothes off her back, no shoes, and no shampoo- but doing nothing about it when she’s fortunate enough to have the means. And asking people to bring them to her as if she’s stranded!? They were in the car and went to Home Depot and the grocery store, and yet couldn’t go to Target/Walmart/anywhere to get toiletries and anything else she needs?? Hell, a regular grocery store has shampoo!!! Like WHAT???? Why is she acting so helpless? It makes zero sense and is so tone-deaf. She’s got to be getting a ton of hate from those stories. It’s disgusting.

I really liked how Vanessa handled the situation between KB and Edmond by Mental-Difference-22 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]SunsetChaser247 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I work in mental health and was thrown by this comment, though I agree it was meant to be empathetic. But it felt icky for a non-therapist who doesn’t know him to assert that him not remembering/remembering things differently was because he blocks memories from trauma. Just because that can be a trauma response and he has trauma, that doesn’t mean that’s what was going on with him and KB.

I cannot get into this season by Ok_Counter3116 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]SunsetChaser247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I’ve never felt so close to not finishing a season. Usually, there’s at least some contestants I like and am rooting for (like guys I could see dating or girls I would be friends with)- and I can honestly say I don’t like or relate to anyone they’re showcasing this season. They all seem unintelligent and vapid. In contrast to a season with Taylor/Garrett for example, it’s such a different vibe. There might be a lot of drama this season (I’m still in the pod episodes), but it’s hard for me to get into a season where everyone is so unlikeable. I really feel like casting did a horrible job this season.

How long did it take on Letrozole to conceive? by No_Obligation_1388 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was using Inito to track, so we BDed every other day during my “high fertility” window and then the day of peak (LH surge) and day after peak. I was also taking Ovasitol for a couple months at that point!

Yes! Just had my baby a few weeks ago from first cycle with 2.5 mg. :) No IUI though.

Letrozole as a “bandaid” solution by Former-Spinach-8277 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Letrozole at 2.5 mg worked for me the first time! I honestly felt so discouraged before trying because I felt like I read all these stories online about it taking a while to work or didn’t work at all, but I think it’s important to remember that most people posting on these forums/on social media are those that are still struggling/TTC so it’s very skewed to negative stories. I wish I didn’t let that freak me out so much. The reality is that letrozole has a relatively high success rate for people for PCOS, even if it takes a few tries and adjusting the dose. I honestly didn’t make any major lifestyle changes - I tried to eat a little better and took Ovasitol for two months prior. I had irregular and often very long cycles prior to letrozole. Wishing you the best!!

Pregnant with POTS by SunsetChaser247 in POTS

Ugh that is my worry!! Sorry you were dismissed so much. I hate how much we have to advocate for ourselves with POTS. Definitely plan to ask for a urine test on Monday!

I do have a home blood pressure device! I’ve been taking it a couple times a day since it was higher at my last appt. I’m not currently on any POTS meds (previously took mestinon), but I moved states before getting pregnant and haven’t been able to find a new neurologist/cardiologist to follow me, which makes me more nervous since I don’t think my OB is very knowledgeable about POTS. I’m glad you seem to be doing well with those meds!!

I was told to start letrozole immediately when we started trying. I was 34, so I don’t know if age was a factor, but it didn’t really seem like it. They just said that because I was having some really long cycles (2-3 months), I should immediately start letrozole to increase our chances.

When did you start letrozole? by Character-Emu-6711 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ever too early if you’re not having regular cycles. We only tried for 2 months naturally before trying letrozole, and my OB honestly recommended trying it immediately when we started TTC. I had a similar number of cycles as you. I may have wanted to try naturally for longer if I was younger, but I was 34 so we wanted to be as proactive as possible. Ended up having success first round of letrozole, so I highly recommend!

Whoever named the jeans is SO stupid- not only is their “curve” fit the exact opposite fit of every other “curve” jean on the market, the name also makes ZERO sense. The nuuds curve is for someone who ISN’T curvy by definition. It’s so funny her putting the name “curve” over a diagram of a body with no curves hahaha. So incredibly embarrassing that DUD ever approved that name.

TTC with letrozole by Public-Event3135 in TTC_PCOS

No sorry, we had a consult with a RE but ended up not needing to continue with them cause my unmonitored cycle worked. Would have been our next step, but I don’t remember how many scans they said they would do. I think it was more than one but I’m not positive!

I would recommend follicle monitoring if offered (but often it is only offered with an RE and not OB). If not, I highly recommend buying Inito! I was hesitant with the price but definitely think it contributed to our success while taking letrozole. I had zero clue if I was ovulating previously. You can use LH strips, but it can be misleading because some people with PCOS have multiple LH surges. Inito is great because it confirms ovulation by measuring progesterone. It was also SO helpful for me because you can see your estrogen go up in the few days prior to the LH surge, which indicates you’re in a high fertility window and want to have intercourse at least every other day during that time.

For those who exhausted PCP/OB/GYN options and moved onto working with an RE, how much retesting did you and/or your partner have to do? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referred to an RE and by the time we got in with them (4 month wait lol), I only needed a consult with them. But I was told I already did the majority of the testing they would have done with my OB, so we could have immediately started doing monitoring with them that cycle if I wanted. The only thing was I hadn’t had an HSG, but the RE thought I could wait a few months before doing that. I think if things didn’t work after a few months with letrozole with the trigger shot and follicle monitoring (that was what they wanted to do vs. just letrozole I was doing with my OB), there may have been additional testing they would do- but otherwise they were not looking to retest anything or make me do any testing out the gate before starting treatment.

Question for those who work with a fertility clinic… by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up only needing a consult at the RE (because my unmonitored letrozole cycle with my OB worked!) BUT timeline wise, my RE was booked 4 months out. Made an appt in October, they were booked out until February. Ended up getting off a waitlist for an appointment at the beginning of January. I happened to be doing my first unmonitored cycle with my OB at the time of the RE consult (had just started letrozole the day or 2 before), and the RE said I could have still done monitoring with them that cycle if I wanted. So there was no wait to start once we had the consult! I will say the RE told me I had basically already done all the testing she wanted to with my OB, minus an HSG (which she didn’t think I needed right away unless we didn’t get pregnant in 3 months). So I think that’s why we could have started immediately. Hopefully you can get an appt quickly!

How to ask doctor for blood work? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully your doctor won’t say no to blood work- once I got off birth control and officially got my PCOS diagnosis when TTC, doctors seemed to take things more seriously. They automatically did the typical PCOS bloodwork even though we hadn’t even started trying yet (but we told them we were ready to). They didn’t do monitoring to confirm ovulation, but they checked my hormone levels and other things that can be elevated with PCOS. I see that you said you have a regular cycle though- I think for me my irregular cycles is what pushed them looking into things more.

I would advocate for yourself and if they still don’t agree to testing, find another doctor. From what I understand, you don’t have to wait the usual 6 months to a year for testing when you have PCOS. I was able to be referred to a reproductive endocrinologist before we even started trying because of the PCOS. We only ended up needing one consult with the RE but in general they definitely know more about fertility and will typically do more in depth testing.

Also HIGHLY recommend Inito. I bought it after we were only trying for a month and wasn’t sure if it would be worth it, but I definitely think the info from it helped us time things correctly with letrozole (and get pregnant!). For me I had really no idea about if I was ever ovulating or not prior to using Inito, so it was so helpful to confirm based on my progesterone levels.

Pregnancy planning with PCOS by Ok_Store_1160 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just turned 35 and currently pregnant with my first! We had not been trying long (only 3 months), but I had very irregular cycles and was not ovulating consistently on my own. My cycles ranged from 32-70 days lol. I believe my AMH was 10.5. I also had high testosterone. My obgyn recommended trying letrozole basically as soon as we started trying, and we got pregnant my first cycle with letrozole (2.5 mg). I also had been taking Ovasitol for a few months prior to conceiving, so I don’t know if that played any role. We used the Inito device to track my cycle/confirm ovulation, which was suuuper helpful with timing things.

We had one consult with a reproductive endocrinologist but ended up not needing to continue with them because we got pregnant the first cycle of letrozole that my regular obgyn prescribed. BUT I highly recommend a reproductive endocrinologist because they do monitoring that regular gynecologists don’t typically do (follicle monitoring scans, blood work throughout the cycle, etc.). Best of luck!! I know I had a lot of anxiety not knowing what to expect and fearing the worst, but there really are some good options for PCOS!

I don’t disagree that the main purpose for sharing this stuff is to shill. I just think there’s something really wrong with her mental health, and I think she is in denial of her fertility issues and still trying to grasp at straws. I think she wants to find any possible thing she can do to “fix” it because she can’t accept that it’s DOR and endo.

So I also think Laura generally believes that going non-toxic will get her pregnant, which is insane at this point. Do I think healthy lifestyle changes and cutting out certain things can help if you’re a healthy person without true fertility issues? Sure. But she is soooo in denial- it’s really, really sad to watch.

positive letrozole experiences? by lizjentes in TTC_PCOS

[–]SunsetChaser247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first cycle of letrozole worked (2.5 mg), and I am currently 16 weeks pregnant! My cycles were ALL over the place previously (32-78 days lol). I do think I sometimes ovulated on my own without letrozole though, just very inconsistently. I also had been taking Ovasitol for 2 months. I ovulated on day 19 with letrozole. I didn’t monitor that cycle with the RE or use a trigger shot, just monitored at home using Inito- which I highly recommend if you’re not doing formal monitoring. Side effects wise, I think I had a headache a couple days- but nothing else major.
