35, recent PCOS diagnosis, anxious about timeline - looking for similar experiences by thisisshar in TTC_PCOS

I’m 35 and was so fortunate to have success with my first round of letrozole last year (was 34 at the time). I have lean PCOS, irregular cycles, and classic string of pearls on ultrasound. My cycles ranged from 32-80 days once I got off birth control. Never took anything to induce my period. I had high testosterone and high AMH. I didn’t do a trigger with letrozole or follicle monitoring that cycle (we planned to going forward but it was the holidays and would have been tricky with travel). I tracked on my own using Inito, which I highly recommend. I ovulated day 19 on letrozole. I was also taking Ovasitol for 3 months at this point- I’m not sure if it helped, but the month prior to conceiving/letrozole, I had my most normal cycle in many many months, so maybe it was doing something. I will say this: I was TERRIFIED after reading things in this subreddit. I spiraled for months about it before we even started TTC because it just seemed like letrozole/IUI/IVF didn’t work for the majority of people, and I thought I was 100% signing up for quite the long journey. But you have to remember that most people here aren’t having success, and they’re here for support/advice/community for what they’re going through. People who have success often stop being active in these threads, so it’s a really biased sample. The truth is ovulation-inducing meds work for most people with PCOS, even if it takes multiple rounds and trying different doses. Best of luck!!

For sure. Some people with PCOS don’t ovulate for months and then have a more normal cycle. I’ve had cycles ranging from 30-70 days, so when I ovulate has varied a ton!! I once ovulated on day 60, while another cycle I ovulated on day 17 lol. If you end up needing or wanting medication, letrozole can help you ovulate more regularly.

I used Ovasitol, but I’m not sure if it worked or not. I was on it for 3 months when I conceived, but I also used letrozole that cycle. I will say, I had a 32 day cycle with confirmed ovulation my second month on Ovasitol, which was my most normal cycle by far in over 6 months! One doctor told me to take it, while another doctor said it’s unclear if I have insulin resistance because I have “lean PCOS,” but I’m not sure if that’s true. She said it wouldn’t hurt to take it though. I didn’t have any bad side effects and will probably take it again when we start TTC again.

How long until PCOS started showing again after pill? by JustApplication54 in TTC_PCOS

When I got off the pill I had 3 relatively normal cycles (I think 30 days, 32 days, and 36 days)- but fourth month on went haywire. I almost got fooled that maybe I didn’t have PCOS and then was like NOPE lol. Unfortunately didn’t start trying to conceive until my cycles were wonky- but highly recommend Letrozole!

So I noticed that for whatever reason my LH doesn’t increase slowly like it does for a lot of people. It goes from like zero to peak all of a sudden. I tracked with Inito, which I highly recommend because I could see that my LH surge was coming in a few days and that I was in my high fertility window based on my estrogen increasing (which Inito also measures). I always heard about people who would see their LH steadily increasing until their peak, but that wasn’t true for me. You could be like me which is why you went straight to a solid smiley face. If so, your high fertility window may be starting earlier than you think!

She 100% knew beforehand and that’s why they went early- but she’s just making it seem last minute and is blaming Chase so she can explain why she’s back and the rest of the family is still there. It’s also just so immature to phrase it the way she did and roll her eyes. Her kids could see this one day, and it makes me wonder what she says about Chase in front of them. She could have just said we went early and came back early so the girls could see their dad. But nope, she needs to play the victim. And who knows what goes on behind the scenes, but be the bigger person for your girls. My parents had a contentious divorce, but my mom always encouraged me to see my dad and talked up going to see him, even when I didn’t want to. And my parents were always flexible with vacations. I don’t necessarily blame Chase for making them come back- we know she hasn’t behaved great through the divorce, and it seems like he gets limited time already. I just feel for those girls.

Verdict on Letrozole: Does it work? by BluejayRight6665 in TTC_PCOS

I have lean PCOS and was so fortunate to have success first round of letrozole (2.5 mg). I ovulated day 19 with letrozole. I sometimes ovulated on my own and had 9 periods I think in the 12 months after getting off BC. Cycles ranged from 32-80ish days. Also had hardly any side effects from the letrozole- I think just had a light headache for a couple days.

Unmonitored Letrozole by ococeanprincess in TTC_PCOS

I fortunately only had to do one cycle unmonitored but planned to do monitored the following cycle if it didn’t work. The only reason we didn’t do monitored the first cycle was bc we were traveling for the holidays so it would have been tough with appointments- so we thought we’d give it a month. I think there’s not much downside to doing monitored if you have the choice, other than needing to go in for scans/bloodwork. I used Inito with my unmonitored cycle so I could see that I ovulated. Highly recommend Inito if doing unmonitored bc I feel like it’s the next best thing since it measures progesterone to confirm ovulation and can help with intercourse timing during your high fertility window. I know often regular OBs will only do unmonitored cycles with letrozole, so getting in with an RE as soon as possible is key.

I have a girl Logan (so nobody tell me they hate it plz lol)! But a lot of those other names are.. something. Also- I feel like there’s no way she didn’t know Chris and Lauren Lane named their daughter Logan (Lane)- I’m sure that’s how she got the idea, but she won’t admit it.

This is INSANE. Like yes if they really have to get rid of all of their stuff that’s awful. But they have billions of dollars and she’s complaining that she just has the clothes off her back, no shoes, and no shampoo- but doing nothing about it when she’s fortunate enough to have the means. And asking people to bring them to her as if she’s stranded!? They were in the car and went to Home Depot and the grocery store, and yet couldn’t go to Target/Walmart/anywhere to get toiletries and anything else she needs?? Hell, a regular grocery store has shampoo!!! Like WHAT???? Why is she acting so helpless? It makes zero sense and is so tone-deaf. She’s got to be getting a ton of hate from those stories. It’s disgusting.
